Sr. Graphic Designer

The Opportunity:

The Senior Graphic Designer is a key member of Molecule Creative Services, Avantor's in-house agency, responsible for designing, developing, and executing high-quality creative deliverables across print, digital, and presentation formats. This role requires a deep understanding of brand systems, marketing applications, and production design - from concept through final delivery. The Senior Graphic Designer works closely with the Production Manager, Creative Managers and designers, and integrated marketing teams to ensure brand consistency, creative excellence, and on-time execution across a wide range of Avantor marketing materials. You bring a strong foundation in design craft, a passion for visual storytelling, and an eye for detail. You're equally comfortable working within established brand guidelines and extending them across new applications. Reporting to the Production Design Manager, you will also provide creative guidance to junior designers and serve as a dependable partner to cross-functional stakeholders.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES/COMPETENCIES

• Apply Avantor brand identity systems across print, digital, presentation, packaging, and sales enablement materials.
• Design, adapt, and finalize creative deliverables using templates, brand guidelines, and creative direction.
• Develop best-in-class creative from brief to completion, supporting campaigns across business segments and channels.
• Create polished PowerPoint presentations for sales, training, corporate events, leadership reports, and high-value programs.
• Ensure all deliverables meet brand, quality, accessibility, file-format, version-control, and production standards.
• Understand digital, print, motion, video, and omni-channel production requirements.
• Tailor materials for customer segments, industries, regional markets, and distribution channels.
• Collaborate with creative, production, marketing, and cross-functional teams to execute projects efficiently.
• Communicate design rationale, constraints, file formats, and best practices clearly to stakeholders.
• Provide creative guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
• Manage multiple projects under tight timelines with strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Maintain organized project folders, templates, content libraries, and archived assets for future use.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & DESIGN SKILLS

• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Expert-level Microsoft PowerPoint skills including slide design, animation, and complex formatting.
• Strong understanding of print production processes, file formats (PDF/X, bleed, color profiles), and digital publishing best practices.
• Experience with social media asset creation across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, web banners).
• HTML and banner animation experience a plus.
• Common space, event, and spatial design experience preferred.
• Comfortable with Workfront or similar project management and proofing platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communication design, visual arts, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

5+ years of industry or agency experience, including work with multi-channel and international brands.

Strong design portfolio demonstrating range across print, digital, and presentation formats.

Background in healthcare, life sciences, biopharmaceutical, or B2B marketing preferred.
