Role & responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Geospatial Engineer with strong expertise in remote sensing, geospatial analytics, and Earth Observation (EO) data processing, with hands-on experience in Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) and Thermal Infrared (TIR) datasets. You will play a key role in developing scalable geospatial intelligence solutions by processing multi-sensor satellite imagery and transforming complex Earth observation data into production-ready applications.
You will collaborate closely with software engineers, AI/ML engineers, and data scientists to design and deliver innovative geospatial products for environmental monitoring, agriculture, mining, disaster management, defence, and other Earth observation applications.
Your Expertise Includes
- Strong expertise in Remote Sensing and Geospatial Data Analysis
- Hands-on experience with Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) and Thermal Infrared (TIR) data processing and interpretation
- Advanced knowledge of image preprocessing, calibration, atmospheric correction, and spectral analysis
- Experience with remote sensing software such as ENVI, ArcGIS, QGIS, SNAP, or similar platforms
- Strong programming skills in Python using geospatial libraries such as GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, OpenCV, GeoPandas, and related frameworks
- Experience in raster and vector data processing, spatial analysis, and geospatial visualization
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for remote sensing applications
- Familiarity with satellite data formats, preprocessing workflows, and geospatial data pipelines
- Experience handling large-scale geospatial datasets in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Exposure to SAR, multispectral, or LiDAR datasets is an added advantage
- Knowledge of Geospatial AI, Foundation Models, or GenAI applications is a plus
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Engineering, or Earth Observation
- Hands-on experience working with satellite imagery and Earth Observation datasets
- Experience processing and analysing hyperspectral and thermal infrared imagery
- Develop robust workflows for satellite data preprocessing, calibration, atmospheric correction, and quality assessment
- Perform feature extraction, land cover classification, spectral unmixing, anomaly detection, and change detection
- Build scalable geospatial processing pipelines for production environments
- Develop solutions for applications including:
- Environmental monitoring
- Agriculture and precision farming
- Mineral exploration
- Thermal anomaly detection
- Urban analytics
- Disaster management
- Defence and intelligence
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate geospatial models into production systems
- Optimise processing pipelines for large-scale satellite datasets
- Experience working in Agile product development environments
- Strong analytical thinking, research mindset, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Educational Qualification
- Master's degree (M.Tech/MS) in Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Geospatial Science, GIS, Earth Observation, or a related discipline
- PhD in Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, Geospatial Science, or related field is highly preferred
