Persistent Systems Ltd. is conducting an in-person hiring drive in Bengaluru for a Senior Full Stack Python Engineer GCP Data Engineering.

You will design, develop, and optimize cloud-native applications and large-scale data processing using Python, BigQuery, Apache Beam, Dataproc, and other GCP services. The role requires 5–12 years of experience with strong Python expertise, REST API design, and hands-on GCP experience.

Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Python Engineer GCP Data Engineering to design, develop, and optimize cloud-native applications and large-scale data processing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role combines backend engineering, API development, cloud-native architecture, and modern data engineering practices utilizing Python, BigQuery, Apache Beam, Dataproc, and related GCP services. You will work closely with architects, data engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions supporting enterprise data and analytics initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications and services using Python.
• Build and expose scalable REST APIs and reusable microservices for application and data integrations.
• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, validation, and processing frameworks on GCP.
• Develop and optimize large-scale analytical and operational workloads using BigQuery.
• Build Apache Beam pipelines for batch and real-time streaming data processing use cases.
• Develop and support distributed data processing applications using Dataproc, Spark, and PySpark.
• Integrate Python applications with databases, APIs, cloud platforms, messaging systems, and enterprise applications.
• Create reusable frameworks and components for ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and data publishing.
• Implement logging, monitoring, observability, exception handling, and alerting mechanisms across applications and data pipelines.
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and participate in peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to applications, APIs, data pipelines, cloud services, and data quality.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, data engineering, and business teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Ensure adherence to engineering best practices related to performance, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and security.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, deployment pipelines, and cloud-native operational practices.

Expertise You’ll Bring:

• 6-10 years of software engineering and data engineering experience with strong expertise in Python.
• Proven experience developing scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Python-based frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Expertise in BigQuery for large-scale data warehousing, analytics, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing Apache Beam pipelines for batch and streaming data processing.
• Experience working with Dataproc, Apache Spark, and PySpark for distributed computing workloads.
• Strong SQL development and database design expertise with a solid understanding of data processing principles.
• Experience building integrations with databases, APIs, cloud services, messaging platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices including modular design, object-oriented programming, testing, code reviews, version control, and CI/CD.
• Experience implementing robust logging, monitoring, observability, and data quality frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience working with data processing patterns including ETL, ELT, batch processing, and real-time streaming architectures.
