Persistent is seeking an experienced Senior Python GCP Engineer to design, develop, and support cloud-native applications and data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role demands strong Python development, cloud architecture, and data engineering skills, with collaboration across cross-functional teams.

You will build scalable data pipelines, optimize cloud resources, and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• BS/BE in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of software/cloud/data engineering experience.
• Strong Python development and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise.
• Proven ability to design scalable data pipelines and enterprise solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python GCP Engineer to design, develop, and support cloud-native applications and data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Python development, cloud architecture, data engineering, and modern application development practices. This role involves building scalable enterprise solutions, developing high-performance data pipelines, optimizing cloud services, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical cloud-based applications.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Python and Google Cloud Platform.
• Build scalable and resilient data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and analytics workloads.
• Develop and support enterprise solutions using GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Create reusable APIs, services, and application components to support business and technology requirements.
• Design and implement efficient SQL queries and data processing frameworks for large-scale datasets.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and cloud resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, and data pipeline issues in production environments.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Implement security, monitoring, logging, and governance best practices across cloud environments.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and solution design activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD implementation, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering excellence within the team.
• Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or data engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python application development and automation.
• Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Expertise in developing enterprise-scale data pipelines and cloud-native solutions.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience working on high-volume and complex datasets.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT frameworks and data transformation solutions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, and scalable application design.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Familiarity with cloud security, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
