Rupeeflo in Bengaluru is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to build payments infrastructure across web and mobile. You will work on money movement flows, integration, and secure client-side architecture.
You will own cross-runtime deployments, implement robust testing and observability, and mentor peers. The role requires deep React/TypeScript expertise, security-minded development, and collaboration with product and lead engineers.
Rupeeflo is an NRI-focused financial services company solving a problem that sits at the intersection of two massive, underserved opportunities: a global NRI/OCI diaspora sitting on record wealth, and an Indian financial system that still makes it painfully hard for them to invest back home. We’ve built the infrastructure that banks and brokerages plug into for global investor onboarding across 50+ countries, dramatically cutting onboarding timelines from over a month to just hours. Backed by Rainmatter (Zerodha) and Piper Serica, we’re live with leading institutional partners and already reach markets covering ~60% of the world’s NRI population.
We ship a consumer mobile app (Expo / React Native) and a web platform (React / Vite), both in production and both in active, fast-moving development.
We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to work across Rupeeflo’s web and mobile codebases as we enter our most important phase of product development: building payments infrastructure from scratch, hardening the product for enterprise and partner deployments, and making Rupeeflo run reliably across many runtime environments — from our own apps to partner-branded embeds.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll spend most of your time writing and reviewing code, working closely with the lead engineer and product team to ship features that are correct, secure, and reliable in a regulated, money-moving product.
Build frontend systems for payments infrastructure from the ground up, including money movement flows, collection, payouts, reconciliation surfaces, and audit-grade traceability on the client, where correctness is non-negotiable.
Contribute to making one codebase run across multiple runtime environments: standalone web, iframe/webview embeds, partner white-label embeds, and native mobile, with a coherent auth, session, and state model across all of them.
Own security and compliance at the client layer, including secure storage, biometric/MPIN auth, screenshot/recording protection, and client-side crypto, and make security review a first-class part of how you ship.
Work across both the web (React / Vite) and mobile (Expo / React Native) codebases, contributing to shared patterns, component architecture, state management, and data-fetching conventions.
Drive real test coverage, consistent error and crash observability, and the shared patterns that reduce duplication across repos.
Participate actively in code reviews, contribute to raising engineering standards, and help mentor engineers who join the team.
React and TypeScript depth: 6+ years of experience building and shipping production React applications with real TypeScript depth — architecture decisions, not just features.
Frontend security: Strong grasp of XSS/CSRF, secure token and session handling, safe storage, and dependency risk. You reason about threat models, not just happy paths.
Async and state correctness: Deep understanding of race conditions, idempotency, retries, cache invalidation, and optimistic updates that don’t lie.
Testing and observability: You write tests because you’ve been burned without them, and you care about debuggability and observability in production.
Build tooling and CI/CD: Comfortable owning build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and release engineering as part of your remit.
Fintech or payments experience — you understand why money code is different, and ideally have worked within a compliance regime (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, RBI regulatory, data residency).
React Native / Expo experience, especially native modules or mobile security (RASP, secure storage, biometrics).
Experience with multi-tenant, white-label, or embedded product deployments.
Performance work at scale — bundle budgets, rendering optimisation, cold-start, memory management.
Prior experience building or integrating a payments flow end-to-end.
6+ years of frontend engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production applications.
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent — strong fundamentals in systems and software design.
Comfortable with greenfield problems and ambiguity — a lot of what you’ll build here doesn’t exist yet.
Work on genuinely hard frontend problems: greenfield payments infrastructure, multi-runtime deployments, and a product where correctness and security are the baseline.
A team where security and craft are valued, not tolerated — you’ll be surrounded by people who care about getting the regulated, money-moving parts right.
Real scope and ownership from day one, with direct access to the lead engineer and founding team.
Be part of a mission that genuinely matters to millions of NRIs worldwide.
