Job summary

Persistent Systems in Pune seeks a Senior Forward Deployment Engineer to design, deploy, and scale GenAI and agentic AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will implement backend services in Python using FastAPI/Flask, integrate LLMs, and build multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

The role requires 8–10 years of software engineering experience, strong cloud experience, and excellent communication to work with customers, product teams, and engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Python, FastAPI, Flask and RESTful APIs.
• Implement agentic workflows including planning, orchestration, memory management, and tool integrations.
• Deploy AI applications across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

• Lead architecture reviews and deployment activities; support PoCs and production transitions.

We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) with strong expertise in Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud platforms, and modern backend engineering. This is a customer-facing role focused on designing, deploying, and scaling AI-powered solutions that solve complex business and data challenges. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience building production-ready GenAI applications, deploying agentic frameworks, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), and working across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. You will collaborate closely with customers, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to transform innovative AI concepts into scalable enterprise‑grade solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Design, deploy, and scale Agentic AI‑powered data accelerator solutions for enterprise customers.
• Work directly with customers to understand business requirements and deliver innovative AI‑driven solutions.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, Flask, and RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement agentic workflows including planning, orchestration, memory management, and tool integrations.
• Build and deploy scalable AI applications across AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG frameworks, embeddings, vector databases, and AI orchestration platforms.
• Collaborate with product management, platform engineering, and sales engineering teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and solution deployment activities.
• Support Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and successfully transition solutions into production environments.
• Contribute to reusable AI accelerators, frameworks, deployment templates, and reference architectures.
• Optimize AI application performance, scalability, security, and operational reliability.
• Follow engineering best practices including testing, monitoring, documentation, and CI/CD processes.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or enterprise solution development.
• Strong programming expertise in Python and backend application development.
• Hands‑on experience with FastAPI, Flask, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Proven experience designing and deploying Generative AI and LLM‑based applications in production environments.
• Experience building, deploying, and managing Agentic AI frameworks and multi‑agent workflows.
• Strong understanding of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience integrating AI services with enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Working knowledge of React for UI integration, prototypes, dashboards, and demonstrations.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, security, and scalability best practices.
• Experience supporting customer engagements, solution implementation, and technical consulting activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer‑facing skills.
• Experience contributing to reusable frameworks, accelerators, and platform engineering initiatives.
