Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Senior Java AI Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications powered by modern AI technologies. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud-native approaches, integrating Generative AI and LLMs to drive business value.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience, expertise in REST APIs, microservices, and AI services. Hybrid work model in Pune with a strong focus on delivery, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of enterprise Java development experience.
• Hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG.
• Cloud-native development on AWS/Azure/GCP and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade apps using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with best practices.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices and architectural standards.
• Design and implement cloud-native applications that support high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered capabilities using Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and machine learning services.
• Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and intelligent search capabilities.
• Implement prompt engineering strategies and AI orchestration workflows to improve application intelligence.
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists, product owners, DevOps teams, and QA teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, architecture assessments, and sprint planning activities.
• Develop automated unit tests, integration tests, and performance validation processes.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud operations.
• Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and software development methodologies.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8-10 years of experience in enterprise application development using Java technologies.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
• Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs and Microservices-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience integrating AI services and frameworks such as Spring AI, LangChain4j, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar platforms.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications and intelligent business solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Vector Databases such as Pinecone, ChromaDB, Weaviate, Milvus, or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native development on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
