Job summary

Xbattery Energy Private Limited in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior BMS Firmware Developer to own embedded firmware for LVBMS/HVBMS, guiding a firmware team and collaborating with HW, testing and systems groups on product validation.

The role requires hands-on expertise in Embedded C/C++, RTOS/FreeRTOS, and experience with CAN/UART/SPI/I2C interfaces, coupled with a strong ownership mindset and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Embedded Firmware Development experience.
• Hands-on with LVBMS/HVBMS and BMS architectures.
• Proficient in Embedded C and real-time embedded software.
• Knowledge of MISRA-C and ISO 26262 is an advantage.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and ownership mindset.
• Experience with Git, code reviews and static analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for LVBMS/HVBMS.
• Design and implement BMS protection and control algorithms.
• Work on SOC, SOH, cell balancing, and fault management.
• Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++.
• Work with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO, Timers and Interrupts.
• Develop and maintain Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade mechanisms.
• Work with RTOS/FreeRTOS and develop reliable, non-blocking software.
• Debug firmware and system-level issues with CAN tools and probes.
• Perform code reviews, unit tests, integration tests and validation.
• Analyze field issues to identify root causes and permanent solutions.
• Take ownership of modules from requirements to release.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior BMS Firmware Developer with strong experience in Embedded Firmware Development and BMS systems. The candidate should have hands‑on experience in LVBMS/HVBMS and should be capable of taking ownership of firmware development while guiding the firmware team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for LVBMS and HVBMS.
• Design and implement BMS protection and control algorithms.
• Work on SOC, SOH, cell balancing, current/voltage/temperature monitoring and fault management.
• Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++.
• Work with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO, Timers and Interrupts.
• Develop and maintain Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade mechanisms.
• Work with RTOS/FreeRTOS and develop reliable, non-blocking embedded software.
• Debug firmware and system‑level issues using CAN tools, JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and firmware validation.
• Analyze field/customer issues and identify the root cause and permanent solution.
• Take complete ownership of assigned firmware modules from requirement to release.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level firmware engineers.
• Work closely with Hardware, Testing and System teams for product development and validation.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development.
• Strong hands‑on experience in LVBMS/HVBMS.
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C.
• Good understanding of BMS architecture and protection algorithms.
• Experience with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C and ADC.
• Experience in Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade.
• Experience with RTOS/FreeRTOS is preferred.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git, code review and static code analysis tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of MISRA‑C and ISO 26262 is an added advantage.
• Good communication, leadership and team‑guiding skills.
• Strong sense of ownership, responsibility and commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in EV or Energy Storage Systems (ESS) products will be an added advantage.

Education

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Computer Science or a related engineering field.
