Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior FinOps Analyst with a proven track record of driving cloud financial management, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across enterprise cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of FinOps experience, strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, experience supporting FDA-regulated industries such as Medical Technology (MedTech) or Healthcare, and emerging expertise in AI infrastructure cost governance and optimization. This role will partner closely with Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Security, Finance, Procurement, and Application teams to improve cost visibility, accountability, forecasting accuracy, and cloud resource efficiency while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the organization's FinOps strategy, governance framework, and cloud financial management practices, driving cost accountability and business value across AWS environments.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of FinOps principles, including cost allocation, forecasting, show back/chargeback, unit economics, optimization, and financial accountability.
• Drive proactive FinOps initiatives that identify cost optimization and cost avoidance opportunities before they impact budgets, ensuring efficient and sustainable cloud consumption.
• Partner with engineering, platform, DevOps, SRE, product, and finance teams to embed cost-aware decision-making throughout the application lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain cloud cost reporting, executive dashboards, KPIs, and financial reviews that provide actionable insights to technology and business leaders.
• Build and manage cloud forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes to improve financial planning accuracy and support strategic investment decisions.
• Establish and measure cloud unit economics, including cost per user, transaction, API call, storage consumed, and data processed to support business value assessments.
• Implement and govern cloud financial controls, including tagging strategies, budget guardrails, anomaly detection, automated remediation, and chargeback/showback models.
• Lead optimization of AWS consumption through rightsizing, architectural improvements, commitment-based discount programs, and operational efficiency initiatives, with a proven record of delivering measurable savings.
• Establish AI FinOps and cost governance practices to monitor, optimize, and control spending associated with AI/ML platforms, GPU infrastructure, model training, inference workloads, and emerging GenAI services while ensuring alignment with FDA-regulated and compliance-driven environments.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of proven FinOps experience delivering measurable cloud cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• 3+ years of AWS cloud cost management experience.
• Strong understanding of Cloud economics, Cost allocation and tagging strategies, Showback and chargeback models, Budgeting and forecasting, Financial reporting, Cost optimization methodologies
• Experience working directly with engineering and cloud platform teams.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytics and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
• Excellent planning and management skills, ensuring that cross-functional team members understand roles and responsibilities and key deadlines are met
• Proven track record of successfully implementing proactive FinOps strategies that deliver measurable cloud cost efficiencies, cost avoidance, forecasting accuracy improvements, and long-term financial governance across enterprise-scale cloud environments.

Desired Competencies

• Experience in FDA-regulated industries, including MedTech, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Medical Devices.
• Knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns.
• Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS CUR (Cost & Usage Reports), and Savings Plans
• Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure and cost governance practices.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional certification preferred.
• AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent certification preferred.
