Job summary

GxP Technologies India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Sr. Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize semiconductor factory equipment. This hands-on role focuses on uptime, safety, and quality across complex machinery.

You will work with OEMs and fab operators, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor performance, manage spares, and train operators. Travel to client sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on equipment maintenance experience.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proactive ownership and adaptability in fast-paced factories.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Sr. Field Service Engineer to manage installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of factory machinery and equipment in semiconductor manufacturing fabs. The role involves working closely with original equipment makers and fab operators to ensure maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing or factory environments.
• Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Understanding of PLCs, automation systems.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in field conditions.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Secondary / Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and semiconductor manufacturing process will be a big plus.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance standards and documentation.
• Process engineering and knowledge of semiconductor processes will be a plus.
• Experience working with semiconductor inspection and test systems will be a plus.

1. Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Execute all scheduled preventive maintenance activities as per OEM manuals and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure timely servicing of machines to avoid breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and compliance.

2. Corrective Maintenance

• Perform immediate diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software‑related issues.
• Carry out repairs and ensure minimal downtime of machinery.
• Coordinate with OEMs or vendors for complex technical issues when required.

3. Performance Monitoring

• Conduct daily machine walkthroughs and inspections across the factory floor.
• Monitor equipment performance using real‑time data logging and analysis.
• Identify potential risks and “near‑miss” failures and take proactive corrective actions.

4. Inventory Management

• Manage on‑site spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Maintain proper documentation and tracking of spare parts usage.
• Coordinate procurement to replenish stock in an at‑imely manner.

5. Operator Training

• Provide on‑the‑spot training and guidance to machine operators.
• Ensure equipment is used within defined operational parameters.
• Promote best practices for safe and efficient machine handling.

Qualification and Work Experience

• Qualifications – Must Have
• Education: B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Related Field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance or related areas.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and a growth mindset.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Proactive & Ownership Attitude: Takes ownership of equipment performance, proactively identifies issues, and ensures timely resolution to maximize uptime.
• Adaptability: Able to work in fast‑paced factory environments, quickly learn new machines and technologies, and adapt to changing maintenance and operational needs.
