Your Role
The SAP FICO Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP Finance and Controlling solutions aligned with complex business requirements across the manufacturing industry. The role demands deep expertise in Finance & Controlling (CO), strong cross‑module integration, and the ability to lead requirement workshops and solution design independently.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Product Owner to realize the Product strategy by eliciting and managing detailed business requirements (e.g., features, user stories) and designing technology‑enabled business use cases.
- Document functional specifications and requirements for conversions, upgrades, interfaces, business logic, reports, forms and workflow.
- Collaborate with Product Owner, Solution Architect, and business stakeholders to conduct paper‑based design activities, capturing high‑level system flows and possible technology solutions.
- Support technical delivery activities by advising developers, etc., on expected system behavior, informed by clear business requirements.
- Design, customize, configure and test FI/CO modules.
- Perform functional testing on delivered solutions, ensuring they fulfil detailed business requirements; create checklists and/or processes to support junior functional consultants on testing activities.
- Provide ad‑hoc training and user support as required.
- Handle configuration changes and emergency transport for high‑priority production issues (as needed).
- Act as a subject‑matter expert to the business and IS on relevant ERP modules, providing key functional guidance to inform the approach to realizing business needs and architectural evolution.
- Operate autonomously, with outputs typically requiring no or limited review by a peer or direct supervisor.
- Demonstrated experience managing and delivering multiple projects (sometimes concurrently) involving cross‑functional teams.
- Provide functional support related to SAP and other applications such as Vertex, Concur, Esker, etc.
To Succeed, You Will Need
- 8+ years of experience in SAP FICO implementation, roll‑outs and support projects.
- Experience in FI integration points with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP and PM.
- Knowledgeable in IDOCs and having some ABAP experience for debugging.
- Involved in at least 2 full‑life‑cycle SAP implementations, including requirements gathering, configuration/prototype solution alternatives and post‑go‑live support.
- Experienced in COPA, Material Ledger, Product Costing, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Order Accounting, New General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Bank Accounting (DME, EBS), and localization/taxation.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others.
Scope Of The Job
The Senior FICO Functional Consultant is responsible for eliciting and managing detailed business requirements by building a close working relationship with business stakeholders (typically VP‑1 and VP‑2). They configure ERP components and modules, design and execute functional tests to ensure the technology solutions meet requirements, document system processes and user guides, and provide training to business and IS teams on newly delivered solutions. The Senior Functional Consultant reports to the Product Owner.
