Job summary

Randstad is seeking a senior legal and compliance professional to shape and lead legal strategies across the organization in Bengaluru. You will advise executive management on compliance transformation programs, oversee drafting, negotiation of complex agreements, and supervise major regulatory matters to mitigate risk and protect business value.

Responsibilities

• Contributes thought leadership that influences industry practices in the resolution of complex legal issues including compliance, the interpretation of legislation and negotiation of (commercial) agreements and transactions
• Acts as the subject matter expert in the development and implementation of legal strategies and the function's position on changes in laws and regulations or high-profile litigation
• Oversees legal activity for the function, ensuring that professionals follow procedures and comply with legal requirements; develops and implements procedures to enhance compliance and mitigate legal risks
• Leads the drafting, negotiation and completion of highly complex legal documents that will improve business efficiency, cost effectiveness or profitability
• Oversees significant legal disputes, high profile litigation or regulatory proceedings involving the organization with an impact beyond the own market
• Makes recommendations to executive management on the advisability of pursuing or defending a lawsuit based on legal analysis and risk assessment
• May oversees compliance activities for the function including establishing standards and leads the implementation of procedures to ensure that the compliance program is effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations, driving enhancements to the overall compliance framework.
