Job summary

Hindustan Foods (HFL) in Mumbai is seeking a Project Engineer/Manager to oversee greenfield and brownfield projects, drive plant setups, expansions, and modernization. You will coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and BD teams to ensure timely, compliant execution and handover across multiple sites.

The role requires 2–5 years of FMCG project experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD. Extensive travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• End-to-end execution of greenfield/brownfield projects in FMCG.
• 2–5 years of experience managing plant projects in FMCG/food & beverages.
• Exposure to Indian regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, utilities and plant infra.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of greenfield/brownfield projects.

• Ensure quality, safety, and statutory compliance.
• Track costs and control budgets to avoid overruns.
• Prepare status updates and dashboards; document approvals and closures.
• Support on-site installation, commissioning and handover.
• Travel extensively to project sites and manufacturing locations.
• Identify and evaluate vendors; knowledge of utilities like HVAC, boilers, chillers.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of greenfield and brownfield projects including plant setup, expansion, modernization, and capacity enhancement


• Coordinate with factory teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Maintenance) & BD team for seamless & timely execution.


• Ensure adherence to quality, safety (EHS), and statutory compliance norms.


• Track project costs and control budgets to avoid overruns.


• Prepare and present regular project status updates and dashboards.


• Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and project closure reports.


• Ensure on-site execution aligns with approved designs, specifications, and schedules.


• Support factory teams during installation, commissioning, and handover phases.


• Extensive travel to project sites and manufacturing locations may be required


• Vendor identification and evaluation


• Knowledge in utilities like Boiler, HVAC, Chillers, air Compressors, STP/ETP etc.


• Basic knowledge of panels, transformers, DGs.

Preferred candidate profile

• B. Tech (Mechanical/ Electrical)


• 2-5 years of experience managing greenfield and brownfield projects in FMCG, preferably food & beverages


• Exposure to Indian regulatory and statutory requirements is an advantage


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, utilities and plant infrastructure.


• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.


• Proficient in MS Project / Excel / PowerPoint/Auto-cad
