The role requires a Chartered Accountant with 1–3 years experience in accounting or taxation, with SAP and advanced Excel skills. Based in Chennai, reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance and Accounts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Exposure to IND AS and US GAAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

About the Role: -

Kemin Industries is hiring a Senior Executive - Finance (Controllership) for its Chennai finance team. You will report to the Senior Manager, Finance and Accounts, and work closely with the Controller on month-end close, audits, and direct tax compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities: -

• Own assigned areas of the monthly book closure, ensuring accurate financial statements.
• Review and reconcile monthly financial statement schedules.
• Prepare intercompany, bank and general ledger reconciliations, plus accrual and provision entries.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalisation and depreciation.
• Prepare the monthly group reporting pack under USGAAP within reporting timelines.
• Coordinate statutory, internal and group audits, and liaise with auditors and tax consultants.
• Support direct tax areas: tax audit, transfer pricing documentation (Master File, Local File, Form 3CEB inputs), returns and assessments.
• Review GST and TDS reconciliations and returns.
• Coordinate with the Company Secretary on periodic filings.
• Review junior team members work and drive process improvements in the close cycle.

Qualification: -

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, audit or taxation
• Hands-on experience in month-end close and general ledger accounting
• Exposure to IND AS and USGAAP is preferred
• Working knowledge of direct tax and transfer pricing is an added advantage
• Experience in any ERP (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, accountability, and good liaison skills
