Responsibilities

  • Code and classify expenses to GL accounts and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and corrections; analyze expenses.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and respond to audit queries.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation, transfers, disposals, write-offs.
  • Calculate and record gains/losses on asset disposals; apply depreciation methods.
  • Perform bank reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and errors.
  • Resolve reconciliation issues with internal stakeholders and banking partners; ensure internal controls.
  • Contribute to process improvement across global finance team.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Executive-Finance based in India.

This role supports accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial operations within a global finance environment. You will be responsible for key activities across management accounting, expense processing, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations. The position plays an important part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting smooth month-end processes. You will investigate discrepancies, prepare accounting entries, and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to process improvements and strengthen financial controls. Collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across a global and hybrid working environment will be an important part of the position.

Accountabilities:
  • Management Accounting & Expense Processing: Accurately code and classify expenses to the appropriate General Ledger accounts, process and reconcile corporate credit card transactions, and verify supporting receipts and documentation.
  • Journal Entries & Financial Analysis: Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, corrections, and other accounting requirements, while analyzing expenses to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Audit & Documentation Support: Maintain accurate supporting documentation and respond promptly to audit queries, ensuring financial records are complete, reliable, and properly controlled.
  • Fixed Asset Accounting: Maintain detailed fixed asset records covering acquisitions, costs, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and write-offs, ensuring assets are capitalized appropriately in line with accounting policies and applicable standards.
  • Depreciation & Asset Disposals: Apply appropriate useful lives and depreciation methodologies and accurately calculate and record gains or losses arising from asset disposals.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform timely bank reconciliations by comparing bank statements with internal financial records, investigating unidentified transactions, bank charges, processing errors, and other outstanding items.
  • Issue Resolution & Controls: Work with internal stakeholders and banking partners to resolve reconciliation issues, correct accounting errors through appropriate journal entries, and maintain compliance with internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to initiatives that improve the efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and control of finance processes within a collaborative global team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance operations, management accounting, or a similar finance function.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, financial controls, and transaction processing.
  • Excel & Data Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Accuracy & Organization: Highly organized, methodical, numerically accurate, and attentive to detail when handling financial information.
  • Communication: Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to respond clearly and professionally to queries and audit requests.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working collaboratively within a global and remote team environment while managing priorities independently.
  • Ownership & Initiative: Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of accountability and the ability to deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.
  • Core Competencies: Demonstrated attention to detail, financial analysis, reconciliation, customer and stakeholder focus, teamwork, process improvement, accountability, time management, prioritization, and adaptability in a global working environment.
