Job summary

Abbott India seeks a Senior Executive (Electrical/Instrumentation) to uphold GMP/GDP compliance and ensure electrical safety and energy efficiency across the manufacturing plant. You will operate HT/LT distribution, monitor transformers, DG sets, MCC/PCC panels, UPS, and power networks while tracking energy use for performance gains.

You will work with SCADA/PLC/instrumentation and water systems, coordinating preventive maintenance and timely responses to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • B Tech (Electrical/Instrumentation) with 4–8 years of experience.
  • Experience in automation engineering and process control languages (PLC).
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and GMP/GEP/GDP.

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for electrical components.

Department : Engineering (Plant Maintenance.) Designation : Senior Executive 1C Qualification : B Tach (Electrical/Instrumentation) Experience : 4 to 8 years

Responsibilities
  • To ensure compliance of GMP/GEP/GDP.
  • To ensure safety compliance as per Abbott Safety Guide lines
  • Operate and maintain HT/LT electrical distribution systems.
  • Monitor transformers, DG sets, PCC/MCC panels, UPS systems, and power distribution networks.
  • Track daily power consumption and energy performance.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize downtime.
  • Support energy conservation and power quality improvement projects.
  • Manage raw water, soft water, purified water, and utility water systems.
  • Operate and monitor WTP, RO, Softener, and ETP systems.
  • Track daily water consumption and identify reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure water quality meets process and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor pumps, pipelines, tanks, and distribution systems.
  • Implement water conservation and reuse initiatives.
  • Experience in automation engineering, as well as process control programming languages such as PLC (programmable logic controller).
  • Provide prompt response to inquiries whenever there is a breakdown and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
  • Ensure that equipment’s are in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, report on, and recommend/ perform service of SCADA, PLC, instrumentation, servo drive motor controls, and process analyzers.
  • SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a system used to collect data from equipment and sensors in a controlled or automated environment. A SCADA engineer develops, deploys and maintains SCADA systems to control processes.
  • Designing and developing new control systems, testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems;
  • Assist in forecasting requirements, creating a budget and scheduling expenses for the electrical components.
  • Keep record of all stock and supplies, including company’s electrical equipment
  • Working in collaboration with the production team to formulate the best cost-effective manufacturing process
  • Supervise electrical works when new installations are undertaken.
  • Learn new skills and attend training programs in other to increase knowledge of trends and best practices in the industry
  • Provide safe working environment for members of staff, and ensure electricity induced accidents and mishaps are prevented
  • Purchase Instruments, fittings and components i.e HMI, PLC, IPC etc. or supervise the staff charged with the responsibility
