Job summary

Vision Systems, Samvardhana Motherson Reflectec (SMR) within Motherson Group is seeking a skilled Materials Planner. The role focuses on running reports in QAD, maintaining planning parameters, and coordinating production with forecasts and capacity.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.
• MBA in Supply Chain or Logistics is a plus.
• 2-5 years' experience in materials management, planning, scheduling or supply chain role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills; Experience with QAD and/or other MRP/ERP systems.
• Ability to analyze large data sets, identify issues, and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Run suggested and shortage reports in QAD and manage material orders accordingly.
• Review and maintain planning parameters: safety stock, min/max levels, reorder points, MOQs.
• Monitor VMI alerts and supplier performance.
• Schedule production aligned with forecasts and capacity; manage run-ins/outs to minimize obsolescence.
• Maintain inventory targets across local and overseas warehouses.
• Ensure accurate data entry of schedules, forecasts and production data.
• Address customer concerns through production leveling and cross-functional coordination.
• Respond to urgent material or production issues with contingency plans.
• Participate in quality programs and continuous improvement activities.
• Support department audits and timely corrective actions.

What you'll do

• . Run suggested and shortage reports in QAD. Order, expedite, delay or cancel material based on MRP signals.
• Review and maintain accurate planning parameters: safety stock, min/max levels, reorder points, and MOQs.
• Monitor and follow up on VMI alerts and supplier performance.
• Schedule production in alignment with customer forecasts and production capacity. Coordinate product launch run-ins and run outs to minimize obsolescence.
• Maintain inventory targets for Raw, WIP, and FG across local and overseas warehouses.
• Ensure that all schedule, forecasts, and production data are accurately entered and maintained in the system.
• Address customer concerns (delivery, packaging, labelling) through production levelling and cross-functional coordination.
• . Respond to urgent material or production issues with contingency plans and root cause analysis.
• Participate in quality programs and initiatives such as 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in departmental audits as required and respond to corrective actions identified in a timely manner.
