Job summary

Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company in Pune, seeks a Workday Payroll specialist to join our payroll team. You will configure and support Workday Payroll, handle earnings, deductions, taxes and payroll calculations, and partner with HR, Benefits, Time Tracking and Finance to deliver accurate payrolls.

The role requires 4+ years in Workday Payroll, hands-on configuration experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and willingness to work US business hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience.

• Experience with EIBs, reports and calculated fields.
• Understanding of Workday business objects and security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Optum and client requirements.
• Support Workday Payroll configuration including earnings, deductions, taxes and payroll calculations.
• Assist in payroll processing, validation and reconciliation.
• Troubleshoot payroll system and configuration issues.
• Participate in Workday quarterly release reviews and payroll enhancements.
• Support payroll integrations, EIBs and data loads.
• Manage change control and migration across Workday tenants.
• Support application maintenance, security and access management.
• Monitor interfaces and integration errors; resolve issues.
• Monitor ServiceNow queue and update stakeholders.
• Gather requirements and document solutions with business users.
• Support payroll audits, compliance, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Time Tracking and Finance teams.
• Comply with company policies and flexible work arrangements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Compliance with both Optum and client business unit requirements
• Support Workday Payroll configuration including earnings, deductions, taxes and payroll calculations
• Assist in payroll processing, payroll validation and reconciliation activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related system and configuration issues
• Participate in Workday quarterly release reviews and payroll enhancements
• Support payroll integrations, EIBs and data loads
• Assist with change control and migration activities across Workday tenants
• Support application maintenance, security and access management
• Monitor interface and integration errors and perform issue resolution
• Monitor ServiceNow queue and provide timely updates to stakeholders
• Work directly with business users to gather requirements and document solutions
• Support payroll audits, compliance activities and process improvements
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Time Tracking and Finance teams
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of Workday Payroll experience
• Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll configuration and support
• Experience with EIBs, reports and calculated fields
• Understanding of Workday business objects and security concepts
• Solid understanding of payroll processing, earnings, deductions and taxation concepts
• Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Willingness to work in US business hours
