Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a motivated Sr Software Test Engineer - Automation to join the Affera Mapping and Ablation System team in Hyderabad. You will design and implement automated tests, collaborate across software, hardware, and QA teams, and ensure product quality for medical devices.

You will develop scalable automation frameworks, verify software against requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of the verification lifecycle while aligning with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science software engineering or equivalent with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience. Bio-Medical expertise will be preferred.
• Strong programming experience in Python, C# or C++.
• Experience testing on Web / Desktop Applications.
• Experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Experience with software verification and validation processes.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Experience collaborating with cross functional engineering teams.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes or function generators.
• Experience / Knowledge of HIL (Hardware in the Loop) framework.
• Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with test management tools such as Polarion, TestRail, JAMA, or TFS.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Quality Management System – Test Planning, Strategy.
• Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs. Nice to have:
• Experience with QT/QML
• Experience working with Linux environments is preferred.
• Experience with UI automation tools such as Ranorex, Appium, Katalon, or Squish.
• Experience in medical device software development or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of medical device standards such as IEC 62304 and FDA software guidance.
• Knowledge on CI-CD Workflow. Docker.
• Knowledge of AI tool usage. Like Co-Pilot, Cursor.
• Experience with system‑level testing of integrated hardware and software platforms.

This role is essential in supporting the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of our advanced medical devices. You will be an integral member of the Affera Software Team, working on cutting-edge technology in the electrophysiology field.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and validation of innovative medical technology by designing and implementing robust automated testing solutions. You will collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and quality engineering teams to ensure software functionality meets product and regulatory requirements.

You will analyze workflows, identify potential quality risks, develop automated test strategies, and support continuous improvement of the software development and verification lifecycle.
