Job summary

Atul Auto LIMITED is seeking an experienced design engineer to lead full-cycle plastic trim development from concept through production. The role requires DFM proficiency, molding constraint discipline, and knowledge of both injection molding and related materials processes.

You will collaborate across teams to optimize assembly methods and manage CAD data, BOMs, and change requests in PLM systems, while ensuring compliance with international automotive safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle design: interior/exterior plastic trims from concept to production.
• DFM expert: apply plastic design guidelines (ribs, snaps, dog‑house, locators and bosses) and molding constraints (drafts, parting lines, and wall thickness) early in development.
• Injection Molding Optimization: Build parts with strict adherence to plastic design constraints (e.g., uniform wall thickness, slider/lifter actions, and gate locations).
• Knowledge of Vacuum forming & FRP process is added advantage
• Clash & Clearance Management: Create master sections and conduct digital packaging/buck studies to manage Gap & Flush requirements between mating parts.
• Assembly & Process optimization: Define seamless assembly methods (welding, clipping, and screwing) for production lines.
• Risk & Problem solving: Utilize D-FMEA and practical problem-solving to resolve complex engineering issues.
• Collaborative Partner: Work cross-functionally with other departments and support team goals.
• PLM Documentation: Manage CAD data, Bill of Materials (BOM), and change requests (ECR/ECN) inside PLM databases (e.g., Teamcenter, Wind-chill).
• Familiarity with international automotive safety regulations (e.g., FMVSS, ECE, AIS).
