Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Bengaluru seeks a BE Mechanical with 7–8 years of automotive design experience to lead interior and exterior trims development. You will create CAD models and detailed drawings for trims, ensuring packaging and fit with other BIW parts.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and toolmakers, apply GD&T, and contribute to feasibility studies, tooling directions, and homologation checks while ensuring high quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical degree with 7–8 years of experience in automotive design.
• Experience in interior/exterior trims, packaging and vehicle level design.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 with assembly design and surface modelling.
• Good communication skills in English and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop interior/exterior trims for vehicles.
• Create 3D CAD models and GD&T for parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with Development Team, suppliers, and tool makers.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, tooling and packaging analyses.
• Prepare technical requirement documents and part drawings.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Design and development of Interior / Exterior trims (IP, Console, Pillar trims, Door trims, Front grill, FR & RR Bumper, Wheel Arches, Door-cladding, Mud guard/ Flap etc. ) ,
• Experience in creating Concepts and data inputs for business case preparation and project costing at kick off stage.
• Experience in feasibility studies of styling data CAS-0 to Class-A for trims parts( tooling direction, draft analysis, Homologation checks, Surface quality etc.)
• Master Section Development, 3D CAD modelling of Engineering surfaces and considering other vehicle parts packaging like Veh DAC , E&E , other BIW & GSM parts etc.
• Interaction with Development Team / Suppliers / Tool makers for Mfg. Feasibility ,packaging / tooling feasibility study.
• Incorporation of Changes suggested in DFM/DFS/DFA, CAE, DMU feedback, Service & Mold flow simulation etc. into engineering design.
• Benchmarking study for competition vehicles and systems for packaging, performance, assembly etc. at vehicle level and tear down level.
• Preparation of SOR/Technical Requirement Document for FSS parts
• Incorporation of GD&T for parts and assembly drawings
• Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team
• Good CAD proficiency on CATIA V5 in below modules

Assembly design, Surface modelling (Generative Shape Design Module),Part modelling, Detailing (Drafting),3D Annotation (Functional Tolerancing & Annotation)

• Good knowledge of Int / Ext trims materials and manufacturing processes, design and devp
• Knowledge of component and vehicle level DVP and homologation
• Excellent communication skills in English & Self-starter with a high passion for success.
