Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

• Expertise with AGMA/ISO/DIN standards (gear load capacity, shaft strength, plain bearing, etc).
• Experience with GD&T to evaluate manufacturing deviations.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer technical specifications focused on torque, speed ratios, and load data.
• Design, integrate and specify gears, splines, shafts, and plain bearings per ZF IW guidelines to create a complete Product Specification.
• Report the design solution to the Design Leader for internal and external reviews and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with Process Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and the customer to deliver technical specifications within project scope.
• Lead technical discussions with clients/suppliers and represent ZF in industry.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer technical specifications, focusing on torque requirements, speed ratios, and load data.
• Design, integrate and specify critical components including gears, splines, shafts, and plain bearings using ZF IW guidelines, tools and processes, to create a complete Product Specification according to customer requirements, timing, and costs.
• Report/documents the design solution to the Design Leader or Design Responsible in a professional manner for internal as well as external review and risk assessment.
• Initiate interaction with involved stakeholders (Process Engineering, Purchasing/Supplier, Quality, Customer…) to deliver the qualitative technical specifications of the assigned work package within scope of the given project.
• Takes the lead in technical discussions with clients/suppliers and represents ZF in the industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 6 years in heavy industrial or wind energy gearbox design in areas of gears, bearings, other machine elements or castings design.
• Expertise in AGMA / ISO / DIN standards (e.g., ISO 6336 / DIN 3990 for gear load capacity, DIN 743 for shaft strength, ISO 7902 / VDI 2204 for plain bearing, etc).
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to evaluate manufacturing deviations effectively.
• Skilled in 3D CAD tools (PTC Creo, Siemens NX or SolidWorks) and KISSsoft.
