Job summary

Eaton Group in Pune is seeking a seasoned power electronics engineer to drive high power density inverter designs and end-to-end hardware interfaces. You will optimize designs for energy efficiency, reliability and safety, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink and other SPICE tools in a global R&D setting.

You will lead architectural studies, perform FMEA/FMeda, and ensure ASPICE/IATF16949 compliance, while collaborating with EIIC and worldwide teams to deliver robust automotive/industrial power

Qualifications

• B-Tech/BE / ME/Mtech in Electrical/Power Electronics
• Masters in Electrical / Power Electronics with industry experience desired
• 6+ years in HV DC-AC inverter power electronics design and analysis

Responsibilities

• Develop high power density product designs end-to-end for electrical power electronics and hardware interfaces.
• Lead design optimization for energy efficiency and performance using modeling or simulation tools.
• Champion innovative solutions for inverter design, converter topologies, switching methods, and HV isolation and protection.
• Oversee compliance to ASPICE and IATF 16949, perform FMEA/FMEDA to improve design robustness.
• Develop system architectures and trade studies, plus interfaces with global product teams.
• Ensure design meets performance, reliability and functional safety requirements.

Job description

What you’ll do:

• Develops high power density product designs involving electrical / power electronics / hardware design and interface designs from End-to-end. Optimize design for energy efficiency and various performance strategies using physical modeling or simulation tools
• Campions innovative solutions for High power inverter design, Converter topologies, Switching methods and control, HV gate driver, isolation design and HV protection; Filters and magnetics design and solid-state device selection;
• Leads project level deliverables in High-Speed Communication Circuits, and Digital and Analog Controls, I/O Interface Circuits and Control Hardware.
• Develops products to comply performance, functional safety, reliability and cost requirements.
• Writes and maintains product specifications and functional specifications of design solutions for inverter product to meet performance, functional safety and reliability.
• Develops engineering tools and continuously improves operational efficiency.
• Evaluates alternative design solutions to meet product development requirements factoring in performance, cost and schedule. Interface with products teams in EIIC and global locations; act as the liaison for program associated with associated simulation technologies
• Monitors progress and achievements on projects, ensure technical reviews and expert resolution of issues and monitor integration of work.
• Executes projects as per recommendations and in compliance with ASPICE and IATF 16949
• Deploys FMEA/FMEDA process to enhance design robustness. Contribute to continued enhancement of architecture to support additional product features.Lead early-stage concept generation for MV transformers (1-phase and 3-phase), including electrical, power electronics, mechanical, thermal, controls, and sensing aspects.
• Develop system architectures and trade studies (architecture matrices, feasibility assessments, down-selection frameworks).

Qualifications:

• B-Tech/BE / ME/Mtech
• Masters in Electrical / Power Electronics engineering with industry experience of over 6 years and proven track record in engineering research / analysis / product design in HV DC-AC inverter Power electronics.
• 6+ Years of experience

Skills:

• Experience in new product development projects and in the field of power electronics.
• Knowledge of quality standards and certifications (IATF 16949, ISO9001, ISO14001)
• Excellent mastery of FMEA method for the design of new products
• Experience in hybrid / vehicle electrification
• Experience in ISO 26262 functional safety processes.
• Experience in following tools - MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice/ LT Spice/ Simetrix, PSIM/SABER.
• Experience in pulsed power, capacitor chargers, electromagnetics, microelectronics, and thermal design is a plus.
• Experience in Analyzing and simulating power electronics systems including, analog, logical, and digital electronics. Leverages use of Hardware in the Loop simulation systems..
• Experience in Validation, Verification and Certification of Auto / Electrical domain
• Knowledge of Reliability for Embedded system Design.
• Understanding of DFSS tools like FMEA, FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etc

Preferred / Additional specialized knowledge
