Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Sr Engineer to lead OLE design schemes in a hybrid work setup in Bengaluru. You will deliver technical designs, ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to support complex rail projects.

The role emphasizes governance of 3D design in a BIM-enabled environment, experience in OLE and electrical systems, and ability to guide projects through lifecycle stages with stakeholders across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in overhead line technical design and related rail disciplines.
• Experience with OLEMI and other OLE ranges (UKMS, Series-1/2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1).
• Familiar with isolation diagrams and update processes.
• Understanding of earthing and bonding for electrification.
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation/MicroStation Connect 3D design.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM.
• Experience in leading/managing project teams.
• Experience in a 3D common data environment following BIM procedures.

• Delivery and management of production designs for OLE including layout plans, cross sections, allocations, isolation diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports and calculations.
• Ensure designs are compliant with current design standards, constructable, and Safe by Design.

• Respond to design queries during construction and attend online meetings if required.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Sr Engineer duties for OLE design Schemes.
• Delivery and management of the production of technical designs for OLE including Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Allocations, Isolation Diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports and calculations.
• Ensuring designs are delivered in line with relevant, current design standards, are constructable, and apply Safe by Design principles.
• Communicate effectively with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors
• Respond to design queries during construction phase and attend online meetings if required.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven designer experience of significant Overhead Line technical design
• Comprehensive knowledge and Experienced in OLEMI and other OLE ranges i.e. UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1 etc.
• Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.
• Understanding of Earthing & Bonding required for electrification
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation/MicroStation Connect -3D Design capability
• Excellent communication and organization Skills.
• Understanding of CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM
• Experience in managing teams.
• Candidates will be able to provide experience of working in a 3D common data environment working to BIM procedures and practices.
• Ability to develop OLE designs through the different stages of the project life cycle for complex sites
• Knowledge of the design processes of other rail disciplines and how they may impact OLE designs.

Preferred Qualifications

• BEng or MEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering +6 year Exp
• Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and member of a professional institution.
