Job summary

Sify is seeking an experienced professional for network, NMS, and automation responsibilities. The role covers installation, testing, and administration of NMS tools, plus scripting and integration for enterprise networks.

Ideal candidates will have BE / B Tech with CCNA, strong Linux and virtualization experience, and familiarity with ITIL processes. Opportunity to influence monitoring and automation strategies across platforms.

Qualifications

• BE / B Tech in Technology or related field.
• CCNA certification desirable.
• Everest NMS Platform Certification is a plus.
• Experience with Python, Ansible, Puppet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure servers and peripherals per standards and project requirements.
• Test and deploy NMS tools like Everest, BMC, SolarWinds per project needs.
• Document NMS processes and administration for reference and audits.
• Automate network events with scripts for bulk provisioning and monitoring.
• Support research and evaluation of new NMS applications and system solutions.
• Work across Windows, Linux and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables and timelines.

Required Skill/Experience

Network & Tools: Basic knowledge of routers, switches, and related network hardware. Knowledge on Basic networking concepts like MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IP Subnetting etc Advanced knowledge on SNMP, MIB/OID structure, NETCONF, YANG & IP Protocols. Work experience on NMS tools like Everest, Solarwinds, BMC etc Experience in Python, gRPC, API (Webservices), shell/expect scripting for Application integrations Expertise on DevOps Automation tools such as Ansible / Puppet tools Knowledge on ITIL Service Operations Linux & Virtualization: Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments Experience in shell/expect scripting, python in a Unix/Linux environment. Hands on experience on Linux servers and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, etc..

Soft Skills: Good problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to interact professionally with executives, customers and vendors. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Roles and responsibilities

Systems: Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Testing, implementing NMS Tools like Everest, BMC, Solarwinds by aligned with project requirement. Administering NMS tools & AI/ML Assess network monitoring needs and determine future tool requirements Document NMS application process flow and administration.

Assist with the research and evaluation of new NMS applications and system solutions Scripting to automate network and application events.o Scripts for Bulk provisioningo Reducing man hourso Should have knowledge in aspect Understanding of FCAPS and NOC environment. Documenting entire life cycle of any new product evaluation and reporting to management. Should have experience to work Windows, Linux, Virtualization domains.o Windows 2019 Servero Linux Platform (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, etc) Work with project stakeholders to complete project charter outlining, scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing. Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members. Will be able to work as part of a team or independent role contributor.
