Job summary

Symbiosis Management Consultants in Chennai seeks a Senior Engineer for Engine Development with hands-on experience in engine testing, design validation, and failure analysis. You will lead DFMEA/DVP activities, prepare engine build sheets, and ensure build quality and durability.

Travel may be required to support manufacturing and field issues. The ideal candidate will have 3–8 years in engine development, a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, and exposure to OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in engine development and testing.
• Experience with DFMEA/FMEA and DVP preparation and execution.
• Knowledge of GD&T and materials strength analysis.
• Proficient in failure analysis and root-cause techniques (8D, Ishikawa).

Responsibilities

• Conduct design analysis and contribute to FMEA/DFMEA documentation.
• Prepare DVPs and execute engine validation activities.
• Create engine build sheets and monitor build control.
• Ensure quality during engine builds and DVP execution.
• Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing plants and resolve field issues.
• Own assigned engine components and ensure performance, reliability, and durability.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Development Engineer with hands‑on experience in engine development, testing, component validation, and failure analysis within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct design analysis and prepare FMEA/DFMEA documentation.
• Prepare Design Verification Plans (DVP) and execute validation activities.
• Prepare engine build sheets based on project stages and monitor build control.
• Ensure quality during engine builds and DVP execution.
• Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing plants and resolve field‑related issues.
• Take ownership of assigned engine components or systems and ensure performance, reliability, and durability requirements are met.

Mandatory Skills

• Hands‑on experience in engine development and testing.
• Strong knowledge of engine components and systems.
• Experience in DFMEA/FMEA and DVP preparation and execution.
• Knowledge of GD&T and strength of materials.
