Job summary

Leading Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer in Chennai seeks an Engineer for Engine Testing & Calibration. You will conduct engine performance tests, quantify emissions, and assist calibration activities across powertrain systems for commercial vehicles.

The role requires hands-on testing on benches and vehicles, with data analysis to guide design improvements and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine testing, powertrain testing, ECU calibration, or commercial vehicle development preferred.
• Ability to work with test benches and vehicles under varied conditions.
• Knowledge of regulatory/emission testing in commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engine performance, durability, emissions, and calibration testing for commercial vehicle engines.
• Perform engine testing on test benches and vehicles under different operating conditions.
• Support ECU and engine calibration activities for performance, fuel economy, emissions, and drivability.
• Analyze test data and identify performance deviations, faults, and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with Design, Powertrain, ECU, Vehicle Testing, and Quality teams for issue resolution.
• Prepare test plans, test reports, calibration reports, and technical documentation.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech Mechanical / Automobile / Mechatronics / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Diploma – Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
• Candidates with relevant experience in engine testing, powertrain testing, ECU calibration, or commercial vehicle development will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engine performance, durability, emissions, and calibration testing for commercial vehicle engines.
• Perform engine testing on test benches and vehicles under different operating conditions.
• Support ECU and engine calibration activities for performance, fuel economy, emissions, and drivability.
• Analyze test data and identify performance deviations, faults, and areas for improvement.
• Conduct testing of engine parameters including torque, power, fuel consumption, temperature, pressure, and emissions.
• Coordinate with Design, Powertrain, ECU, Vehicle Testing, and Quality teams for issue resolution.
• Prepare test plans, test reports, calibration reports, and technical documentation.
• Work with tools such as CANalyzer/CANoe, INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS, and engine data acquisition systems.
• Support validation and regulatory/emission testing as per applicable commercial vehicle standards.
• Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of engine and vehicle performance issues.

Salary :3.0 – 4.5 Lakhs Per Annum
