Job summary

Eaton in Maharashtra, India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the design of LV circuit breaker mechanisms, arc chutes, housings, and casettes. You will participate in all product development lifecycle phases, work with cross‑functional teams, and ensure quality and reliability.

The role requires hands‑on design of sheet metal and plastic parts, DFSSmethods, and proficiency with Creo 7.0 and Enovia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in design and development of LV circuit breaker subsystems (Mechanism, Arc chute, housing).
• Familiarity with ACB/MCCB design, DFSS, and sheet metal/plastic parts.
• Strong communication in English and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of product development lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Testing, Release).
• Design, develop, and test LV circuit breaker subsystems such as Mechanism, Arc chute, and housing.
• Leverage sheet metal and plastic part design knowledge; drive technology with local/remote teams.
• Apply DFSS and Six Sigma principles to ensure on‑time, reliable launches.

What you’ll do:We are looking for motivated professionals with design knowledge and experience in design of Air Circuit Breaker mechanism, casette, accessoires and integration, control mechanical devices and analyzing data.• Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Testing, and Release) following a structured engineering process to ensure quality and reliability.• Responsible for supporting the deisgn of Mechanism, Arc chute, housing for products like LV circuit breaker (ACB and MCCB).• In depth understanding design of sheet metal, plastic part design.• Collaborate with external and internal customers, such as Product Management, Field Service, Operations and other Engineering teams during the product development life cycle• Responsible for Design, developemnt and testing of sub system of LV circuit breaker like Mechanism, Arc chute, housing products like LV circuit breaker (ACB and MCCB).• Expertise in design of sheet metal, plastic part design,different sensor selection and its integration.• Ability to drive a technology design with a team of engineers both locally and remote• Leverage Design for Six Sigma for reliable and on time launch of the projectsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical with 5- 10 relevant experience ORMaster's Degree in Mechanical with 4-7 years of relevant experienceExperience in design and development experience related to sub system like Mechanism, Arc chute, trip unit, housing used in products like LV circuit breaker (ACB and MCCB).Skills:• Candidate should have understanding in plastic and sheet metal parts.• Candidate should have Six Sigma certification.• Candidate should understanding of mechanism of ACB and MCCB.• Candidate should have hands on experiences of Configuration Engg and BID Manager.
