Job summary

Eaton Group is seeking a Product Design Engineer with deep expertise in Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear for design and testing leadership in India. The role focuses on developing LV products such as ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs, RCCBs, and associated components, while ensuring adherence to IEC standards.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, perform hands-on LV testing, and optimize cost through VAVE initiatives, with strong collaboration with external labs for certification.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical/ Electronics Engg.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in Low Voltage Switchgear design.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in LV Switchgear to contribute to design and development of LV products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Conduct hands-on testing of LV products and develop comprehensive test plans.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 60947-1/2/3/4/5 standards in design and testing.
• Develop verification and validation plans to ensure robustness and reliability of LV Switchgear.
• Implement testing protocols to validate product performance against defined criteria.
• Support localization and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to optimize efficiency and cost.
• Provide technical support to production issues related to LV Switchgear.
• Collaborate with on-site teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
• Liaise with external testing laboratories (e.g., CPRI, ERDA, UL) for global compliance and certifications.

What you’ll do:

Product Design Engineer with specialized expertise in Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear, including Contactors, Overload Relays (OLR), Starters, Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB), Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCB),Switch Disconnectors and Distribution boards.

The candidate should possess a comprehensive background in product development, hands-on experience in LV product type testing and test planning, and a strong understanding of IEC standards, particularly IEC:60947-1/2/3/4/5.

• Apply expertise in LV Switchgear to contribute to the design and development of LV products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Conduct hands-on testing of LV products and develop comprehensive test plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications, with a focus on IEC:60947-1/2/3/4/5.

• Strong understanding of IEC 60947, 947-4-1, 947-5-1 standards and their application in product design and testing.
• Hands-on experience in coordinating with certification agencies and testing laboratories.
• Exposure to localization, cost optimization, and VAVE projects.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
