Job summary

Safran Electronics & Defence in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer - Software Platform to support a hi-tech embedded applicative software team. You will work with multi-site engineers and collaborate with R&D headquarters in France, focusing on Low Level Testing and architecture-driven software delivery.

Qualifications

• DO-178C proficiency required.
• Low Level Testing/Low Level Requirements experience (RTRT/IBM Rational Test RealTime Studio).
• Low-level software development (RTOS/Boot/Driver/Dataloader, compilation toolchain, debug tools: Trace32).
• Architecture design experience.
• Tests on target.
• Software integration.
• Assembly & C proficiency.
• Knowledge of RTOS concepts, Real-time Services, CPU & memory.
• Knowledge of embedded networks: CAN, A429, A664, RS4xx, Discrete, PWM, ADC, VDT, DMA/Interrupts.

Responsibilities

• Support a team of engineers on hi-tech embedded applicative software.
• Collaborate with Safran Software Engineering across sites to deliver high-value products.
• Lead Low Level Testing activities and report to Tech Lead and Technical Manager.
• Address technical risks and guide engineers on complex software work.

Job description

The Software Platform Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer, will be responsible for supporting a strong team of engineers working on hi-tech embedded applicative software in a provided project perimeter.

You will be part of Software Engineering Department which has multidisciplinary teams across multiple Safran sites working together to provide innovative, future products of high technological value in aeronautical, land and maritime industries.

You will work in close collaboration with the Reseach&Development headquarters of Safran Electronics and Defense in France. In the short term, you will join a task force dedicated to Low Level Testing.

You will have the responsibility of the Low Level Testing activities, by supporting your team directly. In this context you will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager and operationally to the Tech Lead.

Working with others, you shall responsible for:

• ensuring the highest level of quality for Team deliverables in compliance with DO-178C;
• providing help to the Team software engineers when stuck;
• handling the more complex pieces of software via Architecture/Integration/Development;
• challenge choices from the Management from a Technical standpoint by raising awareness on technical risks on challenging topics;
• train upcoming new engineers with knowledge learned from the Technical Management.
