Job summary

Thales India is seeking an Engineer/Sr Engineer for Avionics Flight Display Software in Bengaluru. You will drive software development from requirements to V&V, using Embedded C in avionics environments, and ensure adherence to DO178B/C standards.

Role involves AGILE collaboration, debugging, regression testing, and delivering robust cockpit display software with knowledge of avionics protocols. Bangalore-based position with global collaboration across defense and civil sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication or equivalent discipline.
• Experience with avionics software development and DO-178B/C processes.
• Proficiency in embedded C developing and debugging for avionics hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop Application Software for avionics Flight Display System with strong knowledge of architecture, multi-threading, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs per DO178B/C standards.
• Debug and enhance existing software, perform regression testing and verification.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to QA teams and milestones.
• Participate in AGILE team activities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate with cockpit display and graphics subsystems.

Engineer & SR Engineer –Avionics SW

Thales India Engineering Competency Center is seeking a Engineer/Sr Engineer to be part of its Avionics Flight Display Systems. The Engineer/Sr Engineer is in charge of the software development activities (Requirement Capturing, Design, Code and V&V), in order to deliver software that meet requirements coming from a Business Lines (B/L), with the adequate quality and maturity level, within schedule and budget.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication or equivalent discipline with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Engineer/Sr Engineer, you will be a major actor in the software development phase using approach with C /Embedded C. In more details:

• Development of Application Software with a good understanding of architectures, multi thread program development, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for avionics systems (Flight Display System) as per DO178B/C standards
• Debugging, bug fixing & enhancements on existing Software.
• To perform Development free hands testing & regression on existing features.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to Quality Assurance teams for further testing and verification.
• Participate in an AGILE team involved in the development phases by respecting deadlines and contractual milestones.

Minimum Skills/Experience:

• EXPERT in Embedded C Programming Language.
• EXPERT in Memory usage & execution time allocation.
• Good understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)
• Candidate should be Strong in RTRT
• Knowledge in Data Structures.
• Good experience on Cockpit Display and Graphics, Primary Flight Display, Multi-Functional Display, Flight Management System functionality
• Knowledge in DO178B/C is required and Knowledge of Coding standards e.g. MISRA.
• Candidate should be strong in writing System Specification, High Level Requirements & Low Level Requirements. Also Strong in High Level Test & Low level Test definition procedure & hands on experience in verification.
• Should have overall engineering experiences in software development of Avionics embedded system and experience in software Development Life Cycles
• Knowledge in configuration management tool git is required
• Knowledge about avionics protocols (A429, A664 – AFDX, RS232, Arinc653)
• Good organizational abilities. Good interpersonal skills, writing & verbal skills
