Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor preventive, breakdown and corrective maintenance for electrical systems (HT/LT, transformers, DGs, UPS, panels).
• Test and commission HT/LT switchgear, AIS, GIS and substations with drawings.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, review method statements, and execute small-scale projects (Capex/Opex).
• Conduct RCA and disturbance analysis for faults; troubleshoot UPS and related systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (CEA, IS, NBC) and maintain ISO documentation.

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Engineer – Electrical plays a critical role in the end-to-end lifecycle of electrical engineering activities related to Projects, Engineering and Maintenance of electrical power systems and building systems across terminal areas at Airports. The incumbent will drive engineering design reviews, project execution support, and preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted power supply, safety, compliance and operational excellence of terminal infrastructure.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance Planning and Execution

• Monitor and control preventive, breakdown, corrective, and condition-based maintenance for HTPCC, LTPCC, transformers, DGs, motors, UPS, battery chargers, and APFC panels (LT & HT).
• Pre-plan testing and commissioning of HT & LT switchgear, AIS, GIS and substations using drawings.
• Numerical and electromechanical relays testing and commissioning, relay parameterization and relay setting coordination for electrical protection systems.
• Monitor transformer commissioning, diagnostic testing and oil testing activities.
• Maintain >99% serviceability and availability of electrical equipment.
• Ensure proper upkeep of all tools and equipment.

Energy Efficiency and Monitoring

• Focus on energy-saving initiatives across operational areas.
• Monitor energy usage, operational consumption, losses, and recovery.

Project Planning and Coordination

• Review construction method statements, equipment schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Execute and coordinate small-scale projects including Capex and OPEX.

• Implement and support initiatives under 5S, CIP, and Kaizen frameworks.

Reporting and Documentation

• Contribute inputs to weekly MIS and monthly reports.
• Analyze and report on daily complaints and major faults.

Troubleshooting and Fault Analysis

• Conduct RCA and disturbance analysis for faults in HT/LT panels, DGs, PLCs, cables, and transformers.
• Perform cable fault identification, tracing, diagnosis, and rectification.
• Troubleshoot UPS systems, battery chargers, and related technologies.

• Operational resolution within defined SLAs

Regulatory and Compliance

• Prepare and maintain documentation for statutory compliance per CEA, IS, NBC standards.
• Maintain documentation for ISO standards such as EnMS ISO 50001:2018 and EMS ISO 14001:2015.

• Statutory and ISO compliance tracking

Lighting and Automation Systems

• Manage O&M for HV, MV, and LV systems including UPS, lighting, small power, substations and lighting automation.
• Apply knowledge of DIALux software and various lighting types such as Hi-mast, indoor and decorative lighting.

• SLA & KPI adherence

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

• Interact with the stakeholders of the projects while executing the works at site
• Interact with the Statutory agencies like Local Fire Authority, Pollution control board, CEA Inspectorates, third party auditors etc. for approvals & certifications

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

• Interact with the user departments and stakeholders for efficient coordination of works
• Interact with the individual team members and cross functional teams during work execution

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

• Maintain min. AOP of 50 Lakhs

OTHER DIMENSIONS

• Staff from contractors and AMC vendors of ~150

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Tech /B.E in Electrical or Power System or Electrical & Electronics

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Experience of at least 3-6 years in Electrical testing, Commissioning and O&M. Well versed in electrical drawings, relays and electrical protection system.
