Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an experienced structural design engineer to execute large-scale industrial projects, ensuring designs meet IS, Eurocode and international standards. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, reviewing calculations, and contributing to material standards and design reviews.

You will work on steel and RCC designs for sectors like hydrocarbon, refineries, and chemicals, using STAAD-Pro, AutoCAD and related tools, while ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience in design of industrial structures (steel and RCC) for hydro-carbon, refineries, petrochemicals & fertilizers, adhering to IS, BS/Eurocode, ASCE and ACI.
• Hands-on experience in preparing and checking design calculations, general arrangement and fabrication drawings for steel & RCC.
• Familiar with international codes and exposure to FEM/ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering and design works within budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve engineering issues and optimize interfaces during design development, review and check processes.
• Provide engineering inputs during all design phases and participate in technical and progress reviews.
• Discuss scope, man-hours, resources, and schedules with support engineers and designers.
• Lead engineer to develop material standards and ensure procedures align with organization standards.

Job description

Executes the engineering and design works within budget and schedule.Coordinates with other departments and resolves engineering issues.Provides engineering inputs during all design phases. Actively communicates with other departments to optimize areas of interface during design development, review and check processes. Discusses with support engineers and designers regularly on scope, man-hours, resources and schedules. Participates in Technical and progress reviews of projects. Familiar with organization procedures and international standards and codes.

Thoroughly conversant with analysis and design of industrial structures covering steel as well as RCC structures related to industries like hydro-carbon, refineries, petrochemicals & fertilizers etc.

Conversant with Indian as well as international design codes and standards viz. IS, BS/EUROCODE, ASCE and ACI. Help lead engineer (LE) to develop material standards.

Must have experience & proficiency in structural design softwares e.g. STAAD-Pro and STAAD Foundation/MAT-3D/RCDC. And working knowledge of 3D modeling & detailing softwares e.g. X-STEEL, FRAMEWORKS PLUS, MICRO-STATION, AUTOCAD etc.

Should have hands on experience in preparation/checking of design calculations, checking of general arrangement & fabrication drawings for steel & RCC.

Knowledge of other international codes and exposure to FEM and ANSYS software.
