Job summary

Saankhya Labs Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Senior Engineer to contribute across the product lifecycle, delivering high-quality software within established frameworks. The role offers significant autonomy, guiding junior engineers and supporting system integration and optimization efforts.

The candidate should possess hands-on Layer-1 experience for DSP/FPGA platforms, L1 software for 5G-NR/LTE on ARM/DSP cores, and strong MATLAB/C algorithms knowledge to meet performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience on Layer-1, DSP/ASSP/FPGA platforms and optimization.
• Design, implement and test real-time L1 Baseband software for 5G-NR/LTE on ARM/DSP.
• Experience in L1 SW optimization for real-time embedded DSP and performance targets.
• Specialized in system engineering, design and evaluation of complex algorithms in MATLAB/C.
• Strong knowledge of 3GPP L1 specs & ORAN definitions and conformance criteria.
• Familiar with lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, channel emulators.
• Solid grounding in wireless fundamentals and their application to design.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full product lifecycle: planning, requirements, design, implementation, validation and field testing.
• Analyze features and dependencies across subsystems and support synchronized deliveries.
• Develop and deliver solutions meeting quality, performance and release objectives.
• Support system integration with partner teams during user acceptance testing.
• Identify, analyze and resolve defects via debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to performance tuning, stability improvements and quality enhancements.
• Maintain thorough technical documentation as part of delivery.
• Engage in reviews, retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build telecom domain expertise across 4G, 5G, and 6G, strengthening software engineering capabilities.

Job description

The Senior Engineer is responsible for contributing across the product development lifecycle, delivering high quality software and system capabilities within established architectural and engineering frameworks. The role operates with significant technical autonomy, provides guidance and knowledge sharing to junior engineers, and supports system integration and optimization efforts.

Mandatory skills:

• Candidate should possess hands on experience on Layer-1, algorithm design, implementation and optimization on DSP, ASSP Processors, FPGA platform
• Design, implement and test real-time L1 Baseband software for 5G-NR, LTE-A, O-RAN nodes on ARM CPU Cores and DSP cores
• Experience in L1 SW optimization for performance, memory utilization on real-time embedded DSP platform and ensure that design meets performance requirements.
• Should be specialized in system engineering aspects, design and evaluate complex algorithms in MATLAB/C Environment.
• Should have in depth knowledge of 3GPP layer 1 specifications & Algorithms for 4G /NB-IoT/5G, ORAN Split definitions, Conformance Test Criterions
• Candidate should have a deep understanding of various lab equipment such as - signal generators, signal and spectrum analyzers, channel emulators.
• Good understanding of wireless communication fundamentals and its application in design.

Desired skills:

• Familiar with any of these technologies OFDM, MIMO, Bea, MmformingMSE, Turbo/LDPC codes, Physical channels, CPRI/eCPRI interface.
• Should have work experience in eNodeB/gNodeB/UE L1 SW development. Familiar with any RAN Platform architecture, L1 Schedulers
• Good debugging skills, log analysis and solving Field issues

Experience: 4 to 6 years experience from Telecommunication or Networking background.

Education: B.Tech/BE (CSE/ECE/EEE/IS) or any other equivalent degree

Candidate should have good coding skills in C/C++

• Participate across the full product development lifecycle including planning, requirement analysis, module/subsystem design, implementation, validation, verification, and field testing
• Analyze features and dependencies across subsystems and support phased and synchronized system deliveries
• Develop and deliver assigned solutions that meet defined quality, performance, and release objectives
• Execute and support system integration activities and collaborate with partner teams during user acceptance testing
• Identify, analyze, and resolve defects through structured debugging and root-cause analysis
• Contribute to performance tuning, stability improvement, and quality enhancements
• Maintain accurate and complete technical documentation as part of delivery
• Participate in reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and apply telecom domain expertise across 4G, 5G, and 6G.
• Strengthen software engineering and design capabilities for assigned modules.
• Gain proficiency in production-grade development practices.
