Job summary

Motionmatics is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead Linux platform development and BSP engineering for high-performance hardware. You will work with hardware, FPGA, and vision teams to build AI-enabled imaging systems for mission-critical applications.

The role emphasizes Linux kernel optimization, driver development, Yocto/Buildroot distributions, and system bring-up on ARM-based platforms. Collaboration across hardware and software teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5–8 years of Embedded Linux development experience.
• Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture.
• Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and ARM-based SoCs.
• Proficient in C and multithreading (pthreads).
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Comfortable with Linux user space and systemD services.
• Hands-on experience with Yocto (image building & recipe creation).

Responsibilities

• Lead BSP (Board Support Package) development for custom ARM-based platforms.
• Perform Linux board bring-up on new SoC / FPGA-based hardware.
• Develop and maintain custom kernel-space device drivers.
• Configure, customize, and optimize the Linux kernel.
• Develop embedded Linux distributions using Yocto / Buildroot.
• Configure and customize bootloaders (U-Boot or equivalent).
• Integrate camera sensors and high-speed interfaces.
• Deploy and optimize object detection and AI inference pipelines.
• Perform hardware-software co-debugging and system validation.
• Optimize system performance, boot time, and resource utilization.
