Job summary

Aeva, Bengaluru-based, seeks a hands-on Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design real-time applications on ARM processors interfacing with multiple sensors. You will contribute to requirements, design, testing, and code reviews, and tackle complex debugging challenges on Embedded Linux targets.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of C/C++ multithreaded embedded development, hardware bring-up experience, and proficiency with I2C/SPI/UART, RTOS, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing C/C++ multithreaded applications for Embedded Linux on ARM cores.
• Low-level driver development experience in embedded systems.
• Firmware development for hardware on Embedded Linux.
• Experience with Microcontrollers, SoCs, device drivers, hardware bring-up and RTOS.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART communications.
• Knowledge of electronics, schematics, and test instrumentation.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Bengaluru, India

Employment: Full-time | On-site

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong experience in embedded software and firmware development.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement real-time applications on ARM processors, interfacing with multiple sensors using C/C++
• Participate in software processes including requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback and improvements
• Debug complex issues arising during product development

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience developing C/C++ multithreaded applications, ideally for Embedded Linux targeting multiple ARM cores
• Experience in low-level driver development in embedded systems
• Experience developing firmware for hardware on Embedded Linux
• Experience with one or more of the following: Microcontrollers, SoCs, device drivers, hardware bring-up, power management, performance optimization, hardware/software integration and RTOS
• Experience with processor architecture
• Experience working with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI and UART
• Knowledge of electronics principles, including reading schematics and using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and other test equipment
• Experience in performance tuning, debugging tools, testing and release management

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as ADC, MIPI and PCIe
• Experience with Xilinx, Zynq SoC family or equivalent
• Experience debugging FPGA hardware using lab equipment
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Shell
• Ability to analyze datasets using Python, MATLAB or equivalent tools to identify issues and improve core technology
• Experience in profiling and benchmarking

What We’re Particularly Looking For

Candidates with strong hands‑on experience working close to the hardware, particularly across Embedded C/C++, Embedded Linux, firmware, device drivers, ARM platforms, RTOS, hardware bring‑up and low‑level debugging.
