Job summary

Unnayan Defence Technologies in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer to design, develop, test, and validate electronic hardware for embedded and defence-grade applications. You will work on analog/digital circuits, schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware bring-up.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Embedded Software, Mechanical, and Production to ensure EMI/EMC compliance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on design and debugging skills required.
• Experience with analog/digital circuit design and schematic capture.
• Proficiency in multilayer PCB design and layout.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations and PCB manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Altium or KiCad tooling and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog and digital circuits based on product requirements.
• Develop schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools.
• Perform component selection considering performance, reliability, cost, availability, and lifecycle.
• Design power supply, signal conditioning, protection, and interface circuits.
• Work with microcontrollers, processors, sensors, actuators, and communication modules.
• Perform circuit simulation, prototype development, hardware validation, and bring-up.
• Debug hardware using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, DMM, Power Supply, and Function Generator.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and implement effective design improvements.
• Support PCB fabrication, assembly, testing, and prototype bring-up.
• Prepare schematics, BOMs, test reports, design documents, and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with Embedded Software, Mechanical, Production, and R&D teams.
• Ensure designs consider EMI/EMC, reliability, quality, and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving activities.

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer to design, develop, test, debug, and validate electronic hardware for embedded and defence-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in analog and digital circuit design, schematic development, multilayer PCB design, component selection, hardware debugging, embedded interfaces, power electronics, signal integrity, and product validation.

• Circuit Simulation.
• STM32, NXP, ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontrollers.
• Sensor and actuator interfacing.
• UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, RS232 and RS485.
• Hardware debugging using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, DMM, Power Supply and Function Generator.
• Understanding of EMI/EMC considerations.
• Altium Designer (Preferred) and KiCad.
• Good technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in embedded hardware product development.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, industrial automation, or robotics products.
• Experience in prototype development, testing, and product validation.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and DFM/DFT concepts.
• Experience working in an R&D/product development environment.

• Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Instrumentation, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
