Job summary

9E Global is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for projects in Mumbai and Kochi. You will lead the electrical design and coordination across design teams, manage design and construction stages, and ensure delivery within fee and deadlines.

Experience in electrical consultancy and familiarity with HV/LV systems is required. Applicants with 6-8 years in engineering consultancy, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and exposure to Middle East projects will be preferred.

Qualifications

• Min 6-8 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms.
• Qualified graduate engineer in Electrical Engineering; advanced degrees/chartered status a plus.
• Experience in Middle East projects highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and coordination across project teams.
• Represent the electrical engineering practice at project level.
• Manage design and construction stages to deliver within fee and deadlines.
• Mentor junior engineers and build project teams.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, client, PM, QS and remote design teams.
• Prepare client/project proposals and present to clients.
• Support QHSE compliance and local authority approvals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms.
• Qualified graduate engineer in Electrical Engineering. Master\'s Degree/Chartered Engineering status will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Middle East projects will be highly preferred.

Project Role

• Management/financial awareness.
• Able to represent the electrical engineering practice at project level.
• Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for projects.
• Ability to manage the design and construction stages of a project.
• Role will normally be as Senior Electrical Engineer on projects of various sizes. On major/more complex projects could take the role of a Design Electrical Engineer.
• Be responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a Project Manager.
• Core responsibilities for the task include: -
• Task delivery to agreed deadline and fee.
• Task profitability.
• Task quality.
• Prepare client/project proposals.
• Present to clients.
• Construct project teams from internal and external resources.
• Procure project resources.
• Plan projects.
• Lead discipline on projects
• Coordinate with all design team members including architects, structural, client, PM, QS
• Mentor and develop junior engineers
• Manage workload of small-to-medium projects independently
• Attend external meetings
• Collaborate with remote design teams / subconsultants
• Support Local Authority approvals

Engineering Function

• Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.
• Review and comment on deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians at key stages through a project.
• Demonstrates all round technical competence.
• Have knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
• Have knowledge of analytical concepts.
• Should be responsible for Quality Management (QA) for their team.
• Have knowledge of our delivery in CAD standards and 3D working.
• Advanced knowledge of HV/LV, Lighting, Small power, containment, ELV and FAVA.
• Excellent knowledge of local and international design standards
• Knowledge of statutory authorities' regulations across Middle East - UAE and KSA
• Good knowledge of Dialux Evo, Amtech, ,MS Excel, Revit, BIM, Navis
• Support client and sustainability sub-consultant in studies and reports
• Evaluate and advise project lead engineer on electrical related design changes
• Maintain and participate in CPD events

QHSE Responsibilities

• Understand, implement and follow 9E QHSE policies.
• Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures in your workplace.
• Comply with local regulatory authority guidelines and laws pertaining to QHSE.
• Report any QHSE incidents immediately to 9E QHSE Dept. and to legal authorities if required.
• Abide Client/Contractor QHSE requirements and acquire site induction before mobilizing at sites.
