Academian Inc. in Pune invites a Senior Director Instructional Design to lead complex instructional design initiatives, translate client needs into effective learning solutions, and mentor cross‑functional teams across EdTech projects.

You will audit courses and learning products, design curricula, create functional specifications, drive proposals and PoCs, and maintain high standards through stakeholder collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Lead the execution of consulting engagements by providing expert guidance on instructional design initiatives.
• Ensure timely delivery and high-quality implementation of learning solutions.

Academian is looking for a Senior Director Instructional Design who brings strong instructional design expertise, a consultative mindset, and a deep understanding of the EdTech industry.

1. Consulting Engagement Execution

• Lead the execution of consulting engagements by providing expert guidance on instructional design initiatives.
• Ensure timely delivery and high-quality implementation of learning solutions.
• Apply relevant learning theories and instructional design models to develop effective training solutions.

2. Proposal Development, Research & Prototyping

• Conduct research and analysis to develop instructional design recommendations for client proposals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create innovative learning solutions aligned with client requirements.
• Lead the development of Proofs of Concept (POCs) for new projects and accounts.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design and develop prototypes that demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed solutions.

3. Course & Product Audits

• Conduct comprehensive audits of courses and learning products to evaluate effectiveness, quality, and alignment with instructional design standards.
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to enhance learning outcomes.
• Design curricula, develop macro- and micro-level training designs, create training materials, and prepare Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
• Lead projects as a senior learning experience design expert, providing strategic and consultative design inputs.
• Mentor and guide team members to ensure instructional design excellence and high-quality project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop diverse learning solutions.
• Apply strong design principles, interdisciplinary knowledge, and cross-cultural competency to learning projects.
• Ensure quality and consistency across all deliverables.

5. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Collaborate with clients, business leaders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define learning objectives.
• Manage stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment on expectations, feedback, and deliverables.
• Provide consultative recommendations that address client learning needs and business objectives.
• Manage stakeholder escalations, changing requirements, and coordination across design, content, and delivery teams.

6. Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

• Contribute articles and professional posts on instructional design trends, best practices, and emerging innovations.
• Support the development of Academian’s social media content strategy and thought leadership initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong expertise in instructional design and Learning Experience Design (LXD).
• Deep understanding of the EdTech industry and technology-enabled learning solutions.
• Experience designing program-level courses for school districts, colleges, and universities, as well as workforce development training.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum design, learning theories, training methodologies, and course development.
• Excellent consulting, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining high-quality standards.
