Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Chennai, India, is seeking a skilled dialysis technician to set up and operate haemodialysis machines. You will prime circuits, prepare solutions, and explain procedures to patients while ensuring correct labeling and safety.

The role requires certification or degree in dialysis/renal technology and 2–4 years of related experience. You will work as part of a patient-centered team in a hospital or clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Certification/Diploma/PG/Degree in Dialysis or Renal Technology
• Renal dialysis certification or equivalent qualification preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate haemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
• Attach dialyser and tubing, prime circuits with saline per protocol.
• Prepare dialysis solutions and bicarbonate according to formula.
• Explain dialysis procedure to patients to alleviate anxieties.
• Connect machine to patient access site and initiate dialysis.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure logs and records are maintained.

Job description

Summary of the role:

• Sets up and operates haemodialysis machine to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure
  • Attach dialyzer and tubing to machine and prime the extracorporeal circuits with 0.9% normal saline to prepare machine for use.
  • Label dialyser & blood lines with patient name & ID prior to the first use (excluded single use).
  • Preparing dialysis solutions and mixing bicarbonate according to formula
  • Explains dialysis procedure and operation of haemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.
  • Connects haemodialysis machine to patient’s access site to initiate dialysis.
  • Monitor haemodialysis machine for malfunction.
  • Maintain all the log books, forms & registers.
