Job description

We are looking for a GitHub Enterprise Platform Engineer who will own and operate GitHub as a platform at enterprise scale. This is NOT a CI/CD engineer role. This role is for someone who has managed GitHub at the organisation/enterprise level, driving governance, automation, and platform standardisation.

Responsibilities

• GitHub Platform Ownership.
• Manage and scale GitHub Enterprise and Organisation setups.
• Define and enforce org-level policies, governance, and compliance.
• Design team structures, RBAC models, and access strategies.
• Automate: Repository provisioning, Team creation and access management, Policy enforcement.
• Use GitHub APIs / Terraform/scripting to eliminate manual processes.
• Security and Compliance.
• Implement and manage:
• SSO / SCIM integrations (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
• Branch protection rules and rulesets.
• Secret management and security policies.
• CI/CD Platform Enablement.
• Manage and scale GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners.
• Build standardised workflows and reusable templates.
• Artefact and Ecosystem Integration.
• Manage JFrog Artifactory (or similar) at scale.
• Integrate GitHub with the enterprise tooling ecosystem.

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with GitHub Enterprise Administration (Org‑level).
• Experience managing GitHub Organizations, teams, and access at scale.
• Proven experience in automating GitHub (not just using it).
• If your experience is limited to using GitHub for development or pipelines, this role is not a fit.
• Experience managing 100+ repositories / large engineering orgs.
• Built automation for GitHub administration.
• Implemented SSO/SCIM lifecycle management.
Experience with a platform engineering mindset.
