Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE.
• Proven experience implementing GitHub and Jira governance at enterprise scale.
• Experience designing and enforcing enterprise engineering standards and controls.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and maturity models.
• Experience conducting DevOps maturity assessments and leading transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enforce GitHub Enterprise governance patterns and access controls.
• Administer Jira workflows and configurations to align with agile practices.
• Establish Jira-GitHub integration for end-to-end traceability across planning to release.
• Define and enforce enterprise engineering standards across source control, CI/CD, and infra.
• Lead DevOps maturity assessments and drive transformation roadmaps.

Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and enforcement of enterprise-grade engineering governance across our software delivery lifecycle. This role owns GitHub & Jira governance, CI/CD standards, security automation, and DevOps maturity initiatives partnering with engineering, security, and compliance teams to build a scalable, secure, and well-governed platform. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on DevOps/Platform Engineering/SRE expertise with the strategic mindset to define standards, drive transformation, and report on outcomes to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and enforce GitHub Enterprise governance, including branch protection rules, pull request review policies, repository structure, and access controls.
2. Administer and optimize Jira workflows, permissions, and configurations, ensuring alignment with engineering and agile practices.
3. Establish and maintain Jira-GitHub integration to enable end-to-end traceability across planning, development, and release.
4. Define and enforce enterprise engineering standards and controls across source control, CI/CD, and infrastructure practices.
5. Lead DevOps maturity assessments and drive transformation roadmaps to improve engineering velocity, quality, and compliance.
6. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins to support reliable, automated software delivery.
7. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
8. Support and govern containerized workloads using Docker & Kubernetes.
9. Integrate SAST/DAST tools, automated security scanning, dependency and vulnerability management, and secrets management into the SDLC.
10. Champion Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
11. Implement observability and monitoring using Prometheus/Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
12. Track and report DevOps and DORA metrics, and build executive dashboards for compliance and performance reporting.
13. Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure governance controls meet audit and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

Proven experience implementing GitHub and Jira governance solutions at enterprise scale.

Experience designing and enforcing enterprise engineering standards and controls.

Strong understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and maturity models.

Experience conducting DevOps maturity assessments and leading transformation initiatives.
