Job summary

Epam Systems seeks a Senior DevOps Architect to lead the design and rollout of scalable DevOps, SRE and platform engineering solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.

You will establish standards for CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes and security, push automation, and guide enterprise‑level transformation with strong governance and client‑facing delivery skills.

Qualifications

• 18–25 years of IT experience with hands‑on architecture and leadership in DevOps/SRE and cloud platforms.
• Strong experience with CI/CD, IaC and GitOps using Jenkins, GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Azure DevOps, Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible plus ArgoCD or Flux.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise including EKS/AKS/GKE, Helm, service mesh and platform engineering concepts.
• Exposure to multi‑cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) architectures, landing zones, security and governance.
• Strong SRE/observability focus: SLI/SLO, incident management, monitoring and capacity planning.
• Experience in DevSecOps, secret management, vulnerability scanning and policy‑as‑code.
• Ability to design enterprise DevOps/SRE transformations and reusable automation frameworks.
• Client‑facing, RFP/RFI responses, estimations, proposals and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Head the architecture and rollout of scalable DevOps, SRE and platform engineering across cloud and hybrid environments
• Establish DevOps strategy, reference architectures, engineering standards and golden paths covering CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes, observability and DevSecOps
• Push automation across infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration management, monitoring and operational processes
• Build and refine SRE practices including SLI/SLOs, incident management and post‑incident improvements
• Provide technical governance and architectural leadership for cloud transformation and large‑scale DevOps initiatives
• Guide solutioning for RFPs/RFIs, estimations and client presentations, translating business needs into scalable tech solutions
• Coach architects and teams, run architecture reviews and strengthen capabilities across DevOps, SRE and cloud tech
• Collaborate with customers, engineering and leadership to improve delivery speed, platform reliability, security and cloud cost optimization

Job description

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Architect to spearhead the design and rollout of scalable DevOps, SRE and platform engineering solutions, while leading enterprise-wide cloud transformation efforts and establishing technical standards for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Head the architecture and rollout of scalable DevOps, SRE and platform engineering solutions across cloud and hybrid environments
• Establish DevOps strategy, reference architectures, engineering standards and golden paths covering CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes, observability and DevSecOps
• Push automation forward across infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration management, monitoring and operational processes
• Build and refine SRE practices, covering SLI/SLO definition, error budgets, incident management, reliability engineering and post-incident improvement
• Offer technical governance and architectural leadership for complex cloud transformation efforts and large-scale DevOps initiatives
• Guide technical solutioning for RFPs/RFIs, proposals, estimations and client presentations, converting business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Coach architects and engineering teams, run architecture/design reviews and strengthen capabilities across DevOps, SRE and cloud technologies
• Work closely with customers, engineering teams and leadership to boost delivery speed, platform reliability, security, operational efficiency and cloud cost optimization

Requirements

• 18-25 years of overall IT experience, with deep expertise in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Engineering, including demonstrated hands-on architecture and technical leadership background
• Skilled in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps, working with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI and GitHub Actions
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure DevOps, Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible, as well as ArgoCD or Flux
• Solid background with Docker, Kubernetes and managed Kubernetes platforms like EKS, AKS or GKE, including Helm, service mesh and platform engineering concepts
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure and/or GCP architecture, covering landing zones, networking, security, governance and enterprise-scale cloud environments
• Deep expertise in SRE and observability, covering SLI/SLOs, error budgets, incident management, monitoring, logging, tracing, capacity and performance engineering
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, cloud security, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, policy-as-code and security integration throughout CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated capability to design enterprise DevOps/SRE transformation solutions, build reference architectures, engineering standards and reusable automation frameworks
• Solid client-facing and solutioning background, including RFP/RFI responses, estimations, technical proposals, architecture discussions and stakeholder management

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AIOps, GenAI-assisted operations/SDLC, automated RCA and intelligent remediation
• Background with Internal Developer Platforms like Backstage, plus FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices
• Relevant professional certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes or Terraform
