Job summary

Deutsche Bahn is seeking a Senior Telecom Design Engineer with OCC expertise in Bengaluru to lead design efforts for telecom and OCC systems in rail projects. The role requires deep experience with IACS, Unified HMI, and hospital-like reliability in critical infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will drive conceptual and detailed design, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure adherence to industry standards while supporting on-site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, electrical or computer science or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience designing and developing Telecom & OCC Systems, preferably in railway sector; proficiency in Unified HMI for OCC, virtualized platforms, OCC software lifecycle, database management and network protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of OCC-BOCC switchover scenarios, video walls design and AI technology for automated OCC operation.
• Effective communication skills for seamless collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Conceptual Design, Feasibility Study, Preliminary & Detailed design documents, technical specifications, drawings, test procedures and maintenance programs of telecom (Wired System and Radio System) & OCC System (with knowledge of IACS, Unified HMI solution).
• Design and development of innovative OCC (IACS, Unified HMI Solution) Systems for railway clients, encompassing hardware, software, and system architecture.
• Acting in a final acceptance capacity on all technical matters related to the design of the Telecom & OCC system to ensure contractual and maintenance compliance requirements.
• Estimate manpower requirements for design Telecom and OCC System. Prepare definition and validation methods to support various bids as and when required.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of OCC systems into existing railway infrastructure, aligning with our commitment to operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
• Stay at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements to continually provide our clients with cutting-edge solutions.
• Ensure strict compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements governing Telecom and OCC systems for railways.
• Work on Telecommunication Subsystems Designs such as Backbone network system, Radio System, Cable Systems, Safety & Security Systems.
