Roborbit.com is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Maharashtra to develop 3D models and detailed drawings for robotic cells and automation systems. You will work with mechanical, electrical and controls teams to turn concepts into manufacturable designs on a permanent on-site basis.

The role requires 5-6 years of experience in mechanical design, expertise in SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/NX, and a strong grasp of DFMA and GD&T. Travel to client sites may be required.

Competenze

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Solid Edge or NX.
• Experience in Robotic Automation or Industrial Machinery Design.
• Knowledge of Sheet Metal, Weldments, Machined Parts, and Standard Mechanical Components.
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and Specifications.
• Good understanding of Manufacturing Processes.
• Basic knowledge of Robotic Systems, Sensors, Actuators, and Pneumatics (preferred).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled 3D Designer to support our Robotics and Industrial Automation projects. The candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for Robotic Cells, Automation Systems, Fixtures, Die, Relation Gauges and Special-Purpose Machines (SPMs). You will work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Controls teams to convert concepts into manufacturable designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create 3D models and assemblies for Robotic Automation Systems, Robot Cell, Gripper Design, Spot Cell, Re-Spot Cell, Die, Jigs, Fixtures, Gauges, Conveyors and SPMs.
• Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances) and BOMs,(Bill of Material).
• Modify and optimize designs based on DFMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) principles
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers, Mechanical Assembly Engineers and Project Managers
• Support design changes during Manufacturing, Assembly and Commissioning stages
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety norms
• Maintain proper documentation and version control
• Assist in layout planning for Robotic Cells and Factory Floor Automation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software: SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA/Solid edge/NX (one or more)
• Experience in Robotic Automation or Industrial Machinery Design
• Knowledge of Sheet Metal, Weldments, Machined Parts, and Standard Mechanical Components
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and Specifications
• Good understanding of Manufacturing Processes
• Basic knowledge of Robotic Systems, Sensors, Actuators, and Pneumatics (preferred)

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with Robot Brands like ABB, KUKA, FANUC, YASKAWA, SIEMENS, DELTA etc
• Familiarity with Plant Layouts, Cycle-Time considerations, Gun Study, Process Study etc.
• Exposure to Automotive or Heavy Engineering Projects
• Understanding of ISO / DIN / BIS Standards
• Working knowledge of ERP / PDM Systems
