Role: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in consumer electronics product design, CAD (using PTC CREO), and FEA analysis. The ideal candidate will be experienced in designing and developing mechanical components and subsystems, with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Design: Perform conceptual design using PTC CREO, validate concepts through prototyping, create detailed engineering designs, manufacturing drawings, and develop specifications while generating Bills of Materials (BoM).
• FEA Analysis: Support product improvements and new development programs by performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Mechanical Components Development: Design and develop components from materials such as plastics, sheet metal, and machined parts while collaborating with designers and architects to select suitable materials and finishes.
• Hand Calculations & Verification: Conduct hand calculations to verify designs and ensure accuracy.
• DFMEA & Risk Management: Perform Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to assess and mitigate potential risks.
• DFM/DFA: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to enhance product manufacturability.
• Tolerance & GD&T: Use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision in manufacturing and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards, including CE, FCC, and FDA regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including designers and architects, to ensure alignment with product functional and manufacturing needs.

Qualifications:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, particularly in consumer electronics, with hands-on experience in manufacturing processes.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in PTC CREO for CAD design.
• Experience with FEA tools.
• Strong knowledge of materials (plastics, sheet metal, and machining).
• Experience with DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and GD&T.
• Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis and hand calculations.
• Familiarity with industry standards (CE, FCC, FDA).

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with the latest design tools, methods, and engineering processes.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar (preferred).
