Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Database Engineer in Pune, India, to drive the design and delivery of the LoanIQ database implementation. You will lead technical implementation, mentor developers, and leverage AI-assisted tooling and cloud-native patterns to boost productivity, code quality, scalability, and delivery speed.

Job description

As a Senior Database Engineer in the Global Loans domain, you will drive the design and delivery of the LoanIQ database implementation. You will lead the technical implementation, mentor other developers and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools and cloud-native patterns to enhance productivity, code quality, scalability, and delivery speed.

You will also lead the design and delivery of our in-house database development supporting integration with upstream and downstream systems, whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate, manage, and optimize database systems, delivering high-quality data solutions that support our strategic business goals and technical roadmap.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a complex database implementation projects supporting the implementation of our vendor product, LoanIQ.
• Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for Azure SQL environments.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and developers to translate business requirements into effective, scalable database solutions.
• Ensure database performance, reliability, and scalability through rigorous optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain data integration strategies, including ETL processes, to support Global Loan products and operations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, migration processes, and changes to support transparency and compliance.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code, test, & debug workflows.
• Promote AI-based engineering practices & cloud best practices within the team.

Mandatory Skills Description:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with, and in-depth knowledge of, Azure SQL.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database and related tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Familiarity with additional database technologies or platforms.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
• Knowledge of finance and global loans systems.
