Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced database professional to support and develop multi-tier front/back-office applications. The role emphasizes Oracle and Sybase RDBMS, design, maintenance, and complex data migrations within enterprise-scale environments.

You will analyze requirements, design solutions, and own components end-to-end, collaborating with business analysts and ecommerce teams to deliver robust data services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in RDBMS (Oracle/Sybase).
• Experience in supporting multi-tier applications.
• Excellent analytic & problem solving skills.
• Experience in different Oracle-RDBMS with focus on design, maintenance and support of medium to large enterprise databases.
• Experience in migrating databases from Sybase to Oracle.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Ready to handle Development work as an Individual contributor
• Possesses excellent understanding of Oracle, Sybase RDBMS, and Database server components.
• Take ownership for maintaining/supporting front/back-office applications
• Requirement Analysis, Design and Implementation
• Responsible for feasibility studies and setting up of new or revised applications component.
• Utilizes good understanding of apps development procedures and concepts from a general and database point of view, basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system upgrades.
• Solves least complex problems through evaluation of business processes, system processes and industry standards; uses evaluative judgment to make recommendations for process improvements.
• Applies good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
• Assesses the applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluates options under circumstances not covered by procedures.
• Communicates ideas and information in a concise and logical manner Together with the partner teams, user community, business analysts and eCommerce management contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our business

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in RDBMS (Oracle/Sybase)
• Experience in supporting multi-tier applications.
• Excellent analytic & problem solving skills
• Experience in different Oracle-RDBMS with focus on Design, maintenance and support of medium to large enterprise/distributed databases
• Experience in migrating enterprise/distributed databases from one platform/RDBMS to another – Sybase to Oracle to be specific

_ Skills and Technical essential : _

• Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills
• Good Knowledge of RDBMS Oracle (10g and higher
• Excellent persuasive, influencing and negotiation skills
• Good understanding of platform support procedures and concepts
• Experience in Design, Development and support of databases of medium to large scale enterprise/distributed applications
• Excellent knowledge in Oracle (11g & above) and Sybase (15.x & above
• Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills
• Sound knowledge and hands on experience of Performance tuning and troubleshooting of production database systems.
• Experience in large/enterprise database infrastructures migrations from Sybase to Oracle within tight schedules/timelines.
• Experience in application data migration, porting and version upgrades across different RDBMS using tools such as bcp, SQL *Loader, etc.,

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
