Job summary

Citi in Hyderabad is seeking an Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst to contribute to design, development and support of enterprise applications. This role emphasizes Oracle/Sybase RDBMS work, multi-tier architectures and collaboration with business analysts and eCommerce management.

The candidate should bring 6+ years in RDBMS, strong SQL/PL-SQL/T-SQL skills, and experience migrating databases across platforms. This is a full-time, on-site position in India.

Qualifications

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Ready to handle Development work as an Individual contributor
• Possesses excellent understanding of Oracle, Sybase RDBMS, and Database server components.
• Take ownership for maintaining/supporting front/back-office applications - Requirement Analysis, Design and Implementation
• Responsible for feasibility studies and setting up of new or revised applications component.
• Utilizes good understanding of apps development procedures and concepts from a general and database point of view, basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system upgrades.
• Solves least complex problems through evaluation of business processes, system processes and industry standards; uses evaluative judgment to make recommendations for process improvements.
• Applies good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
• Assesses the applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluates options under circumstances not covered by procedures.
• Communicates ideas and information in a concise and logical manner. Together with the partner teams, user community, business analysts and eCommerce management contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our business.

Qualifications

• Experience in migrating enterprise/distributed databases from one platform/RDBMS to another - Sybase to Oracle to be specific

Skills and Technical essential

• Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills
• Good Knowledge of RDBMS Oracle (10g and higher
• Excellent persuasive, influencing and negotiation skills
• Good understanding of platform support procedures and concepts
• Experience in Design, Development and support of databases of medium to large scale enterprise/distributed applications
• Excellent knowledge in Oracle (11g & above) and Sybase (15.x & above
• Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills
• Sound knowledge and hands on experience of Performance tuning and troubleshooting of production database systems.
• Experience in large/enterprise database infrastructures migrations from Sybase to Oracle within tight schedules/timelines.
• Experience in application data migration, porting and version upgrades across different RDBMS using tools such as bcp, SQL *Loader, etc.,

Education

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
