Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst in Pune, India. You will participate in building and implementing revised application systems with the Technology team and act as a Senior Application DBA for the OTC suite, focusing on performance tuning and data platform stability.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and define standards for maintainability, security and quality, while leveraging SQL, Oracle, Unix, Python scripting and ETL techniques

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• Experience with routine DBA tasks and housekeeping.
• Expertise in database monitoring and server performance tuning.
• Strong SQL writing and query tuning skills; data modeling experience.
• Experience with data migration and data integration.
• Familiarity with agile (scrum/kanban) methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems with the Technology team.
• Design, develop and tune large scale data solutions as Senior Application DBA member AVP for OTC suite.
• Coordinate with CTI DBA / Windows SA domain experts for DB patching and maintenance.
• Define needs around maintainability, performance, security, quality and usability for data platform operations.
• Tune SQL Server and Oracle platform performance; publish database standards for others to adopt.
• Produce detailed analyses when the best action is not evident and recommend/act accordingly.

Job description

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Senior Application DBA member AVP for OTC suite of applications, responsible for design , development and performance tuning of large scale data solutions.
• Partner with CTI DBA / Windows SA domain experts to ensure DB patching and other DB maintenance activities.
• Define needs around maintainability, performance, security, quality and usability for data platform including data platform backup, archival and DBA routine work
• Tune existing applications on SQL Server and Oracle platforms for optimal performance.
• Define and publish database standards to adopt by others to operate.
• Produces detailed analysis of issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/ taken.

Skills Required.

• Oracle 19c , SQL Server 2016 and above, Unix, GitHub and Autosys
• Highly motivated, Needs minimal hand holding, Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills; ability to analyze data for trends and quality checking
• Must have basic Python/Unix scripting and ETL Knowledge.

Nice to Have.

• Knowledge on BigData technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, AWS S3 etc.

Knowledge/Experience:

• 10+ yrs. of overall IT experience
• Strong exposure into routine basic DBA tasks and house keeping activities.
• Expertise in database monitoring and server level performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of database fundamentals and advanced concepts, ability to write efficient SQL and tune existing queries.
• Data Modeling experience (OLAP, OLTP, Logical/Physical Modeling, Normalization, knowledge on performance tuning)
• Strong experience in automating routine DBA tasks via Unix/Python scripting.
• Experience with AI tools like Co-Pilot, Devin or Stylus.
• Data Migration, Data integration experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of software engineering
• Knowledge of agile (scrum , kanban) development methodology is a plus
• System level understanding - Data structures, algorithms, distributed storage & compute
• Can-do attitude on solving complex business problems, good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Experience with a ETL tool is a plus
• Experience with a job scheduling tool (e.g. Autosys)
• Experience in Finance Industry is must.
• Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
